Hi everybody! I got an email from a friend tonight and this is what it said:

"We are looking to stay at one of the onsite
properties and I have been told you now have to transfer busses at the ticket &
transportation center to get to the parks. I know you have stayed on property
before and I wanted to know if this is true that the busses do not go directly
to the park but they make a stop where you have to get on a second bus? "

I haven't heard anything about this, so is this something new? My family has stayed and will be staying off property again on future trips, but I know in 2008 you never even saw the TTC. Has something changed? I went in December 2010, but since I was off property, I had to use the TTC for MK.

I don't know where she got this info from, but please let me know if she's right or wrong. :)

Thanks! :goodvibes

is she talking the ME or the resort buses??
I could see the ME taking everyone to the TTC but not the resort
no idea

We were there last week and it was business as usual - meaning resort buses go directly to theme parks.

Told by whom? The only time you have to transfer at TTC is when traveling between 2 parks, and one of those parks is the MK. Resort buses to the MK and all other parks go directly to the parks.

With the current number of resorts and the current number of parks, there's no way the TTC could handle the volume of guests traveling between all resorts & all parks.

And could you imagine making guests at AKL take a 15-minute bus ride to TTC and wait for a bus for another 15-minute ride back to AK, when the 2 are 5 minutes apart? There would be a revolt!

I think she is getting mixed up with OFFSITE busses.

Thanks for all the quick replies. I don't know where she heard it, but I can't imagine having to transfer every time either. :scared1:

I'll let her know the buses are running like normal. : ) THANKS!

With a small number of exceptions*, shuttle buses from non-Disney's resorts have always gone to the Ticket & Transportation Center instead of Magic Kingdom bus platforms and sometimes the TTC instead of Epcot.

From TTC take the monorail to MK and Epcot, a ferry to MK, and Disney buses to Animal Kingdom and Hollywood Studios.

* I think Swan and Dolphin are it.

I agree. This would include the hotels that are considered on Disney Property near DTD.

There is NO WAY Disney Transport would use TTC to make transfers as stated above.. it would be pure mayhem....

The DTD hotels are on Disney property. I think they drop off at the TTC.

Some of the offsite hotels only run a bus to the TTC. Guests are told to use Disney transportation to go to the other parks.

I would find out exactly which hotel they are staying at. It could be as others have pointed out. On-site hotel doesn't always mean the same thing to everyone.

One of my co-workers stayed at Shades of Green once, and I think those buses got TTC and not directly to the parks

Correct. My sister stays at Shades of Green and they have to go thru the TTC. She dislikes the extra bus connection but she and her husband get great rates as they are retired military and they still get Extra Magic Hours so she puts up with the inconvenience.

Like another PP said make sure she is really booking an "on-site" hotel. She could be booking one of the DD hotels. If this is her first trip she could be confused.
