I caught it towrds the end of the day and it was basically a walk on ...boy was i happy!!! and it is so worth it...that Cpt. Sparrow is amazing and the special effect at the begining is awesome!

We were lucky enough to catch it on a soft opening before it officially opened July 7. And it was a 20 minute wait so basically a walk on. Every time we went by after the official opening it was no less than a 40 to 60 minute wait. But well worth the wait, we loved it.

I rode it yesterday actually. Before it was reconstructed, it was considered a walk on for our family. However, we had to wait about 35 minutes before getting a chance to ride it yesterday. Don't get me wrong it is well worth the wait! :thumbsup2

We rode it one night last weekend, just after the Spectromagic Parade, and were very surprised to simply walk on as well, with no wait at all. Loved Capt. Jack and all of the subtle changes to the rides existing "crew".

I rode it last Friday afternoon, and it was about a 40 minute wait.

Worth it though.

i was there in the morning before it got past the magic carpets of aladdin and we waited about 40 minutes but man was it crazy! Ive never seen so many people in my life! The ride was awesome though! Capt. Jack is sooo cute! :teeth: pirate:

We went on it for the soft opening on July 1....no wait! Then again on July 8th after the official opening....15 min wait. I love it!!! The Jack character looks just like Johnny Depp. I even like that smokey, pirate face in the beginning....not saying anymore for those who still haven't riden it! lol

small changes, all for the better. the initial special effect, which I won't say as I dont want to ruin it - scared my son (2 1/2) as it was new to him and is a bit 'scary'

If you are interested, I will type it below in white font - you will need to highlight it to see (hold the mouse and drag over):

The first effect, just after the boat leaves the loading area, is a 'fog machine' that adds smoke from top to bottom, and has a projector that adds water images onto it (looks very good for a fake waterfall) - however, Davy Jones from the new POTC is on there... and he is a bit monsterish with the octopus tentacles - so my son did not like it...

There you have it! Remember, if you don't want the surprise ruined, don't look!!

As for the wait, my guess is that it will be a walk on again fairly soon. The same thing happened with the wait time when POTC first came out, now since it is remodeled and POTC2 is out, the crowds are naturally heavier. I caught it during the soft opening and waited 2 minutes (the time to walk in and wait for 1 boat). Others in the group (July 4th weekend) waited 40 minutes...

Not quite a fog machine, but if you're interested in learning more, check this URL:

edit: tried to match background of quoted text per suggestions, but can't find an exact match. Not really a big spoiler anyway.

40 minute wait on 7/7. 30 minute wait on 7/11. Note that these were the posted wait times, but the acutual waits were 5-10 minutes shorter than the quoted time. I found this to be the case with most of the rides in the parks.

notnothin - can you please edit your post not to include my quote? That defeats the purpose of the non-spoiler white text...

Do u still go down in the ride a little hill? Is it steeper, I am so excited to ride this ride. When i was there in October. I missed it. Do you all suggest, i rent the pirates of carribean movie, :happytv: to get the jest of the ride now. Or should I even get that excited about it? OT? how is the new movie that is out. Should, I go and see that?TIA, all. :p

Yep, you still go down the little hill.

As for wait time...last week we did POTC both on 7/10 in the evening and had about a 20 minute wait and then again on our last day, 7/14 mid-afternoon and we had a 30 minute wait.

The Wait For The Ride Doesn't Seem That Bad.
I Plan To Go When The Seasonal Passholder Block-Out Dates
Are Over.

It was a 52 minute wait for me on July 11th. This was about 11 am. The line wrapped itself within the building and then went towards the Enchanted Tiki Room. Has anyone noticed that probably due to all the people the caverns are not as cold as before. Also the scene with Davy Jones is really cool. Some trick.

Also, several times during the day there is someone dressed as Captain Jack Sparrow and another guy dressed as a pirate doing a skit by the ride. Very funny. They get the kids involved with a sword fight with wooden swords. I first saw it on line and then when it came around again I was able to position myself in a great spot to video tape it. My family have seen the tape several times already. We enjoy it. The actors are really great. I wish they did not run off so I could tell them. To me it is a must see just as the ride is.
