Is there a new one being offered now? I read somewhere (can't find it now) that there is one being done over in Epcot/WS? Not on the WDW site - maybe I dreamt this one up...

Do you know if the kids have to be older than 4 to ride? Do they have peanut butter on that one too? My DS have life threatening peanut allergies and for the life of me - I can't understand why Disney serves Peanute butter on the Pirate Cruise at the GF.

I can understand your concern, as I have a nephew with the same allergy. However, from Disney's perspective, Peanut Butter is a near perfect food for them in this situation... It's cheap, almost universally loved (or at least eaten) by kids and can be hauled around without any special precautions and minimal mess. I can't think of too many other foods that would meet all of these criteria.

Finally my daughter will let our grandson go on the pirates cruise. He is 10. I would like to know too if there will be another pirate cruise. :earsgirl:

:wave2: I believe.

this is a pirate cruise in addition to/different from the one that leaves from the grand floridian? any add'l info... cost? ages? etc?

my ds also suffers from life threatening peanut/tree nut allergies... it scares me that they would serve that on the cruise to kids unattended by their parents... all he needs is to be near someone opening a pbj and he could have a reaction :(

My son too has a peanut/nut allergy, I was a wreck but allowed him to go and put his 8yo sister as his advocate, well he was singled out of the group right away and given a special wrist band taht signified allergy. He was given a separate lunch and on the way back to shore I noticed taht he was sitting up front with one of the counslers, so I thought oh no what happened is he ok or was he misbehaving, but in actuality they kept him separate during and after lunch to decrease any risk of exposure or contamination from the peanutbutter. So though I sweated it out the whole timt they were gone they had a GREAT time and I would feel comfortable to allow him to go again.
Believe me I did my research prior to sending hime because I had a horrible experience with one of the kids clubs and nut allergies and I made it well known to Disney representives ( that kids club closed just weeks after!) But you do need to always ask we can't assume anything with our kids health!!!! pirate:

If someone has more information, or better yet a link, on the new pirate cruise could you please post it here? My kids did the one from the GF and had a blast! We'll be staying at BWV's in May and it would be very convenient if they had one close by!

I just called the resorts (directly) and they DO NOT have a PC. Sorry. The only one they have is at GF.

I booked one a few day ago from BC/YC for a Wednesday in May. They were booked at the GF and WDW -Dine suggested this one. It is from 9:30 to 11:30 I believe and is the same price as the GF one. :flower:

My DD went when she was 6 years old and LOVED it. She says at 10 she is now TOO OLD for that! Oh well..... there goes 2 hours of free time for DH and me! :sad2:

or something like that. I also booked it a few days ago. I believe this cruise takes place only on Wednesdays and leaves from the Yacht Club Marina.

I booked the Albatross Pirate Cruise a couple of weeks ago for my DD for May 11.

It leaves from the YC/BC marina at 9:30 in the morning. The cost is the same as the GF cruise (something like $28.17).

I don't have many of the details about it, like what are the "ports of call", but I did ask this question on the Disney for Families board; I think someone said that some of the ports of call will be in the World Showcase.

I'm glad I was able to book it for DD, because after this WDW trip, she'll be too old for the Pirate Cruises! :(

I have it booked for my DD's on March 23rd. I will post when I return. It is called the Albatross Cruise. I booked it on the WDW play number for activities. It is Wednesday only from 9:30-11:30. It is supposed to be just like the GF pirate cruise. The GF cruise was booked for our date so we are trying this one. I have breakfast PS at Cape May with my youngest DD booked while the others are cruising. I'll post when I get back. pirate:

Does anyone know how long this cruise has been around? I never knew about it and haven't even heard about it on the boards until now! I'm glad to see we have another option. I'll try it on my trip in the fall!! I look forward to the trip reports!!

both the kids cruises are booked out over our stay but was told to check again when we got there as they might have someone cancel
You can cancel 24 hours before without be charged
Here hoping sounds like good fun

I heard something about this cruise on another thread that said something about the CM's bringing the kids into world showcase to look for clues? That sounds a little scary to me-so many kids with just a couple of CM's and no parents in Epcot? Maybe that was misinformation-I don't know. Don't get me wrong, I would love for my DS 5 to do one of the Pirate Cruises when we go in Sept. The GF one sounds very safe and fine to me, but this one...I don't know. I guess i could just call Disney and find out the details....sometimes I forget that I don't have to get ALL my information from this site :rotfl:

It appears as though it is done before WS opens. I don't think it would any more dangerous than the GF one that tales them to different resorts

IWANNAGOBACK! -

What kid club did you have a problem with? (We have Neverland booked.)

My girls wanted to do the PC, but when I called they weren't that helpful about my oldest's peanut allergy. Even told me if she had a reaction she would need to give herself the EpiPen shot. It didn't sound safe to me at all - on a lake, surrounded by kids eating PB&J, no epipen...

They have done the Alice Tea Party and they were FANTASTIC! They've gone completely nut free, had my daughter's food wrapped up, sat her next to Alice...

My oldest wanted to do something on her own, so I ended up booking Neverland to let them play for a few hours. I was told their buffet is completely nut free now, too.

ANY word on the new PC? Are they also serving PB&J?

Keep in mind that World Showcase isn't open to park guests at this time of the morning. If I'm correct, the Pirate cruise is 9:30-11:30. My guess is that the kids are out of WS before that part of the park opens up.
