New PIN for jan and feb released!

Has anyone ever had a code attached to their reservation as a first-time resort guest? Or are these only given out to return guests?

Also, if there is a pin-code mailing going out, how likely is it that there will also be a code for the general public?

I called and was happy to find out there was a pincode attached to my name (to this day I have yet to actually receive the "infamous" email/postcard!). For my Feb. 15-18 stay @ POP the code was about $120 less than rack rate. It appears the discount is only off the room portion as pricing this in a package the savings was the same. I was also able to make ADRs for Le Cellier & Teppan Edo...which was shocking to me as this is over President's Day weekend as well as the 50th anniversary of the Daytona 500. Another thing that surprised me was that each of my nights was the same price. With the new pricing structure, I would have thought Sunday night would be a bit lower (or the Friday & Saturday nights a bit higher). :confused3

For those of you not getting codes, I have no idea if this makes a difference or not, but I had signed up on Disney's website, and my profile says when I was planning my next vacation. I said Jan 2008, and since the beginning of the year, they have been sending me pins (3 total), saying things like "Taylor family, you could come to Disney sooner than you think!" and stuff like that. Maybe if you put in your profile that you are planning a trip in say, Dec. 2008 you might get some codes enticing you to come and spend your money sooner. I was wondering if they wouldn't send me a code for the actual times I said I wanted to come because I had turned down their other offers (acutally, I called each time to price it out, but it was never really workable for us). But here it is, a Jan/Feb pin code, so maybe it is worth a try. Again, I have no real idea, perhaps it is always random, but it doesn't hurt to try!

I just called, felt a little silly saying is there a pin by my name. but I had the nicest lady- she said some how some way Disney had me down as not wanting postal mail or email. She changed it and I'm hoping for a code now..... So glad I called:woohoo:

Also, if there is a pin-code mailing going out, how likely is it that there will also be a code for the general public?

It does happen. We received a PIN in my mother's name for August, but it wasn't good for where we wanted to stay. A general public code came out a couple weeks later that was good for the same dates at the resort we wanted, so we were able to get the Beach Club for $240/night. The PIN was a slightly better deal for the resorts where it was available, but the public code was good too and more widely available.

How do you get on the list to get the emails that give out pins and codes?

I have gotten a postcard code once before but I never get any e-mails. Maybe I have goofed and signed up somewhere to not get them...can anyone tell me where to check my information to make sure I haven't kept myself from getting codes?

I called yesterday and told the lady I wanted to check to see if a pin was by my name. I told her my husband was the spam police and I was afraid I was sent and email and didn't get it. She said no that I was in the computer as no mail and no email. So glad I called she fixed it! So I strongly recommend you call.

Hoping those that actually received the email/postcard could give me one detail. When do you have to book this by? I got the pin attached to my name. However we weren't planning to go until April but I just may try to do a January trip. I just need to know when the last date to book is as I am not sure how much bonus money we have coming in this year yet.

Went back to check my e-mail and I couldn't find a date to book by. sorry.:confused3

I received the code and called to price it out yesterday. It was actually a little higher than the AAA rate I have. No big deal that's for sure. For those of you that are disappointed that you did not get a code AAA is only $50 a month and well worth it.

Thanks for checking. I guess I will just have to call them to find out. I asked quite a few questions the other day BUT forgot to ask that one.

Don't mean a year not a month? I pay by the year...

Huh? I thought the code gives you free hoppers (which I would have purchased) and the water parks and more add-on (which I would not have purchased, but will use for Disney Quest if we have it free)?

I currently have the All-Star Movies resort (preferred room) booked at the AAA rate of about $75 a night. Even if I have to pay rack rate to get those add-ons it seems worth it.

Unless I'm wrong about the code, which is certainly a possibility SINCE I DIDN'T GET ONE!

I think the code that gives you free park hoppers and water parks is the canadian code!!

Sorry if anyone doesn't know:

They released 2 new codes:
1 is for canada
1 is for USA

I got one!! Too bad I'm a teacher and can't take time off of school for a vacation (though I wish I could since it seems like all my students take vacations during the school year). I'd love to go back. If only it was for better time of the year for me

(this is my second pin code of the year. the first one came via a postcard and took advantage of it since it was good during a planned disney vacation. I'm not sure how I got on Disney's good side but I hope this continues. I'm looking to head to Disney probably during Aug 2009 for a honeymoon and would love to say as much money as possible then)

I say: FIELDTRIP !!! Imagine going and getting paid for it too!!! Hey I drive HC van f r disable students if you need a driver give me yell!!!!:woohoo:
