I just read on another board that there is possibly a new package for the dates of 11/10-2/11/04 minus some blackout dates for Thanksgiving and Xmas (don't know when). Apparently it's called the Winter Dream Package available to book tomorrow with prices starting at $99 per adult per night for a Value Resort. Anyone have any more info?

This is the first I hear, bit I will be watching. I was hoping to go the last week of Jan. with my DB and SIL, and that could be good for them. (I have an AP)

You know, I had a feeling when they did announce some kind of discount it was going to be for a later time period than expected. And with the way many are saying the Fairytale Package was a success I wondered if it would be a package offer. Hmmm-we'll just have to wait and see, I guess. What was the site you saw this on?

Just called CRO twice. The first CM wanted to know how I knew about the package and gave up very little information. The second CM was happy to tell all.

The package includes
room
UPHP
pin & lanyard
luggage tags
Choice of one of the following:
round of mini golf
Leave a Legacy tile
$25.00 GC for Planet Hollywood
Story Magic at Epcot

Blackout dates Nov.25-27 and Dec.27-Jan. 1

Must be booked by Sept.22.

This works great for my birthday trip in January. I may even try to make a short trip for Christmas.

YankeeFans51- I saw it on Intercot.

I'm hoping this will pan out to be a good deal-perhaps for a XMAS present for the kids (to go in January), seeing as we can't rely on our AP's anymore :).

Um.... where's the deal??? $99/adult/night is $198/night for a room, assuming 2pp occupancy. Value resorts in value season are $77/night, maybe. So PHP's (and the extras) are $60/day per person???

And of course, Nov - Feb, the PHP's are SO valuable, because the plusses are so useful. Been there three times in that time period, never even put a toe in the resort pools, even when it was warmer than normal.

This is not a good deal for most of the dates!

If you are going during Value season, a rack rate All Stars Room is $77.
So, two adults in a room at $99/person is $198-$77=$121 a night for UPHs and the other things included. The longer you stay, the worse the deal.

Ugh. -HM

OOPs posted at the same time as the person above me!

Well if people don't take the time to "do the math", there goes the "low" crowds during that time period..

Good for Disney finances - bad for those who hoped to avoid bigger crowds..

And if they keep the shortened hours during that same time frame, how will people accomplish all of the things they had hoped to?:(

What about room only discounts? We need 2 nights prior to our DVC stay, will we be paying rack rate? Come on Disney, start rewarding the regulars!

I just checked at Mousesavers and Mary has infor on the main page that COMING TUESDAY package deals beginning 11/10-2/11/04. Black out dates also. Nothing more. Just wanted to let everyone know. I guess we will be moving somewhere else now. :(

That's easy ... Disney is counting on them to book MORE days on the package! ;) That way Disney ends up getting more $$ all the way around. And I think they count on people to NOT do the math and just assume that the package is the best deal available. Maybe Mary (Mousesavers) really is onto something...

It looks like we do not know for sure what the rates are. Maybe they will be good.

You have to factor in that a 3 night stay will give you 4 days of UPH. So $99 x 2 people = $198 x 3 nights = $594. Does that include tax? I think so. $77 x 3 nights = $231 x 1.115 = $258. 594-258 = 336/4 = 84 = approx $42 per day per adult for the extras. Not a huge discount.

This same offer has been on the Disney Visa site for 8/24 to 10/1.

I don't see how this applies to any AP discounts... they have been offering laughable deals like these as long as I've been following this stuff... just because the FTP was a big hit does not mean this will be. FTP was a success because it was a good deal. This is not a good deal. Relax, AP discounts are out of your hands now .. These packages are just business as usual. Fact is the economy is still not to the point where the average person can afford these crazy prices. If they want to fill their rooms they will offer AP discounts this winter. God god sakes it has to be booked by Sept 22.. why would they set a deadline like that if they weren't planning on releasing supplemental discounts with the rooms that are left over. If anything this is a good sign because I don't see people doing backflips over a free pin and round of golf.

..and even if it is any good they totally skipped October!

Perhaps there ARE discount rates, AP or otherwise coming for 8/23 - 10/1, then. Who knows?

This new Fall/Winter Package includes UPH tickets, so this package isn't any use to AP holders. Disney has released AP discounts all this year thru Aug. 23rd. I have a feeling we'll see AP discounts, but as Mary mentioned, they will be released last minute. Last minute to me means when the current AP codes expire on Aug. 23rd, new AP codes should be released by Aug. 24th. Just my thoughts, please nobody get touchy about this. ;)
