New package for fall/winter!!!

If there is a package similar to the Fairytale Package, we may have to make an extra trip this year.

Maybe they will be adding some free nights like the last time (FTP)?? I agree with some of the other posters--if this is the only discount they offer, not sure they'll fill enough rooms with it during a traditionally slower time of year.

I totally agree with ddank. I have also seen packages like this since 2001 (when I started lurking on the Dis), open to the general public (i.e. in travel section in the newspaper) and through Amex when they used to have a partnership with Disney. I can't imagine it will be that much of a draw, especially compared to FTP.

Totally NOT a good deal if what was posted is correct. Luckily, I didn't renew my AP, and booked a FTP for 10-25 to 11-3. If a trip is definitely in the works, looks like we'll all do better booking separately.

why would they set a deadline like that if they weren't planning on releasing supplemental discounts with the rooms that are left over.
Good point. I agree.
Our AP's are done the first week of January '04.
At least by December I should know if it will be worthwhile to renew them or not.
FYI -- The last two Januarys we have paid only $54+change each night at AS with the AP rate.

We've all been hearing that Disney is trying to encourage packages over room only stays. This seems to indicate that trend. But, I really don't think they will give up on giving out AP discounts and other codes. They just may not be as good a deal as they have been in the past. I think that would be done to encourage people on the fence to go the way of the package deal. Just my 2 cents!:D

Do you suppose Disney marketing is trying this to attract the business of some of the 20,000+ marathon runners and their families? :bounce: :bounce:
Sneaky...

Okay, I thought I was a Disney expert, bit I don't have a clue. What is Story Magic at Epcot?

OK, OK, I'm new:rolleyes: but what is UPHP???
Sorry if this question has been asked before, I'm just a little confused

Thanks,
Kimba

UPHP=Ultimate Park Hopper Pass, which is a length of stay pass that is only good for the days you booked your ressie.

I have read the boards today with interest on this new package, but I think it is just another one of their package specials (but not so special) just like the ones they always have, like that Sunshine Getaway special (I THINK that was the name of it), but even when they had that, they still offered AP rates and room only discount codes. I would have alot more worried about switch to only packages if they had run the Fairytale again, the way it originally was. Notice this deal is no where near as good as that one was. I think this is something that was already planned, just like all their other packages. I am still holding out for room only codes and AP discounts. Keep the faith guys!

Our first trip to WDW was in 1999. I distinctly remember there being a package like this one. I think it was Dancing in Your Sleep or something like that. I distinctly remember that it was around $99 per person, just like this one. We did not do the package, instead seperated it out, and saved money that way. We also had a code for that time period. Granted, it was a Disney Club code. We went in September, and the parks were not busy. People weren't flocking to the parks then.

Anyway, this new pacakge comes out, so I decided to give it a call. For six of us to stay at the ASMu (because Movies is not available) it would cost $2,338.94. Without doing the package, we are going to be spending about $2000.

I wonder if we would book the package for the first few days we will be there at the $99 a person and then book the rest of it as room only and get separate park tickets. Anyone tried that?
