Or the 2007 Superbowl when the Giants beat the previously undefeated Patriots? Because that's one game I loved seeing!

If we lose to the Colts in the Super Bowl, at least we lost to a quarterback from New Orleans. But, that won't happen anyway! We make it.......We win!

I say this as someone who also has had the same upbringing: I've been saying for years that if the Saints ever make it to the Super Bowl let alone win it, the end of the world shall be upon us. It's got to be one of the signs!

Woo hoo! They struggled to beat a mediocre Miami team! Hooray!

Don't count your chickens - there's a LOT of season left. (The Saints are good, though. )

True dat! I have complete faith in the Saints ability to mess up a good thing. Of course, a part of me hopes that they don't, but I wouldn't be surprised if they do.

I have a question. I don't mean to stir the pot, but it is a question I have had for a while, and I know this is a safe, friendly place to ask. What is it with "Who dat"? Is there a meaning behind it? It seems odd to me to revel in speaking broken English or ebonics or whatever it is. Am I missing something?

Yes you are missing something lol.

The chant of “Who dat? Who dat say they gonna beat dem - - ” originated in minstral shows and vaudeville acts in the late 1800s and early 1900s, then was taken up by jazz and big band folks in the 1920s and 1930s, became a familiar joke among soldiers in World War II, was used in early TV skits in the 1950s, then was adapted by Southern University and the public schools in New Orleans in the 1960s and 1970s and finally was adopted by Saints fans and the Saints in the late 1970’s.

I would venture to guess maybe also something to do with the New Orleans accent , there is an area in NOLA .. Irish Channel and possibly maybe the Midcity that the residents are called ( or were ) Yats.. do to the greeting of "Where y'at?"... where you at? Our version of how are you lol.

Cincinnati Bengals also use a version of it ... " Who Dey?"

NOLA is a unique and fun place with a culture of its own.. no surprise here that we use WHO DAT as our chant.

Isn't "ya know" broken english? And if we are "reveling".....Then why do we have to speak correct english while having a good time? Speaking of "Who Dat", it is part of a chant that we use. IT IS NOT EBONICS!
