*** New Official February 2013 Thread ***

When did you book to get Tusker house I haven't been able to get a reservation for our entire trip? Have also read a lot of people saying they have rang and CMs saying they can't book yet! :confused3

We are travelling from the UK on January 31st leaving February 14th staying Port Orleans Riverside

Sorry for the wrong information. Tusker House is not yet accepting reservations. I just wrote it down as booked since we're pretty sure we'll be able to get it on the day we want it.

New to DIS and hard core planning February 16-23 trip with my DH and 4 year old princess loving DD. Not yet booked, but hoping to stay in a Nemo family suite at AoA. In search of as many princesses as possible...

I am new to these discussion boards, but not as new to Facebook. Can I join your page on February 2013? Particularly since, as a WDW novice, I am apparently way behind the 8 ball on planning, I need as much help as I can get from those of you with way more experience!!!

I can completely relate! I just started planning 2 weeks ago and when I started reading this I feel hopelessly behind! It's my DS (4) first trip and it feels like my first trip as I haven't been there since 1989. I got our room reserved at AoA in a Cars suite and I can do our reservations on Monday. There's a lot of great info on here and folks are very helpful. Good luck in your planning!

:woohoo:

2/1 - Chef Mickey Dinner
2/2 - H&V Breakfast and will add a BOG dinner, hopefully
2/3 - Kona Cafe
2/4 - Tusker House lunch when available

Hello everyone. My wife and I will be taking our 10year old son Feb 8 - 14th. We are already booked and staying at Port Orleans French Quarter. We decided to stay there because they offer 2 Queen sized beds, as opposed to double sized beds. Nothing worse than being at the parks all day and having to cram yourself into a double bed.

We are super excited!!!

Does Disney usually offer the free dining packages during this time frame?

I was also curious to know if anyone has just asked for a room upgrade at check in, and actually gotten one. I would think early February would be a good time to for this, as crowds are typically less.

We have been several times in the past...lastly March of 2012. That was super crowded and super hot. It was fun, but the heat just zapped our energy FAST. I hoping that early february will be no lines and shorts and sweatshirts weather. Were from Nebraska, so looking forward to leaving the bitter cold for some fun at the Greatest Place on Earth!!!

Welcome to PrincessHanasMom & duggspy!!!pixiedust:pixiedust: We're glad to have you join our February happy dance. (I wish I could do a happy dance as cute as Misti May Treanor.)

Princess Hanas Mom, you'll find the best place to answer specific questions will usually be on the specific sections such as resorts, restaurants etc. But still feel free to ask here too, especially for previous February experiences.

duggspy, my DH & I will also be at POFQ but not arriving until the 11th and checking out on the 15th. It will be our first stay at French Quarter. We chose it for its small size. We were there the same time this year and our daytime temperatures were mostly in the 70's while overnight it went to the 50's. I had on a light weight jacket in the evenings but DH did not always need one. Some days he wore shorts and I wore capri's. We were blessed with beautiful clear days. In 2010 & 2011 we did not go to WDW but we did go to Sanibel Island at that same time in February and it was cold and about half the days it rained. So, I'm just hoping for a repeat of 2012 in 2013 :) There was a free dining offer at this time for 2012 but there was also a room discount and since we were staying at a deluxe resort that saved us much more so we chose the room discount rather than free dining. (You can not stack discounts.) The announcement for free dining came out before the news of the room discount but I can't remember the exact timing.

Hi! My son & I will be staying at French Quarter Feb 7th-13th; we'll be celebrating his 10th birthday, so your son will have a friend there (if he wants one) so we should stay in touch! :)

We were there the 2nd week of Feb. in 2010 & it was very cold that week by Orlando standards. The average temperature for that month was 54 degrees; it was the 2nd coldest Feb. on record for Orlando. It's unlikely the temp will drop that low while we're there, so you may not need those sweatshirts; just t-shirts & light-weight jackets for night time. Then again the way the weather has been behaving the past few years - you never know! :confused3 Also, the lines won't be bad at all; I think it's the perfect time to go!

Hi LaurieO. Friends always make things more fun. Especially for the kids.

We are also planning on going to Universal Studios for half a day during our trip. We went there in March 2012 and my son absolutely loved the Super Hero and Harry Potter sections. They do have some pretty good rollercoasters over there, but it's a half a day, at best.

The Universal Studios experience is nowhere near as "Magical" as WDW.

In the past Free Dining was offered in February. Here is a link that shows previous discounts: http://www.mousesavers.com/historical-information-on-walt-disney-world-resort-discounts/ You can look up each year to see what was offered and when the discount came out.

I have never requested a room upgrade, but would also like to know if anyone that has asked got one!

I have never been in Feb. before but I know this past year it was beautiful weather! I am hoping it won't be too cold this year! I heard that since the ocean temperatures have been so warm this year, it is going to be a COLD winter. If that is the case, it will most likely be cold in DW in Feb. I am really hoping that is wrong!

We just booked a quick weekend trip! February 1-4, thanks to great airfare and APs. The best part? Feb 4 is my birthday!!!!!!!! I never thought we would be able to make it happen! I think we'll stay at Pop or AoA (if I think my 2 boys can handle Little Mermaid!) I will wait for AP rates to decide!

How do I get my tickers to line up next to each other and not stacked? Thanks!
