*** New Official February 2013 Thread ***

We are definite for WL. Woods view with bunk beds. So excited!!! We actually leave home January 24 to go on a DCL Eastern Caribbean cruise on the Fantasy, then to WL for our Feb. dates. My twins turn 5 on Feb. 3, and this trip is the last big off season blow out before we have to deal with a school schedule. We are working on planning out our schedule. I think we are going to set up an in room birthday celebration. Six months cannot go fast enough!

:welcome: to all the new comers! Got everyone added to the roll call. If something is wrong on there, please let me know and I will change it. :)

I'm going to post this here and on a new thread under Parks and Strategies for feedback:

Touringplans.com has the crowd level for Feb. 1st at the following:
MK: 3.6 out of 10
Epcot: 8.5 out of 10
HS: 8.3 out of 10
AK: 4.4 out of 10

I thought the first week of February was the lest crowded time to visit but the 8.5 and 8.3 have me a tad alarmed:scared1: and confused:confused3. Anyone know why these numbers may be so high?

With the cut in EMHs and early closing times for the week, I'm really concerned about the prospect of bigger crowds.

That is my week also, so I am not too thrilled that Touirng Plans has it with higher crowd numbers! I have never been at that time of year, but thought it was supposed to be a slower time of year. Hoping it is wrong!

Hey everyone - I'm excited to announce we are staying at the Swan Feb. 22-27. I'm running in the PHM and my DH, DD, Mom, Dad and Sis are coming to cheer me on! Let the countdowns begin!

I do have a question - we want to do a few character meals while we are there. DD will be 2 1/2 and loved it last time. We like Chef Mickey's and Crystal Palace. Anyone been to Akershus? Any other votes?

We went to Akershus last Sept. for lunch and we loved it! It's a great atmosphere, the princesses really took their time with my boys and the food was good. They have a small cold buffet along with the food you order. They also give you (for free) a 5x7 picture of your family taken with Belle before you are seated.

We also liked Play and Dine at Hollywood and Vine. We ate lunch there and thought the food was pretty good. My boys really liked the parade and all the dancing they do throughout the meal. Jake from Jake and the Neverland Pirates is there now along with Leo from Little Einsteins, Agent Oso and Handy Manny.

We've been to AKershus twice, and will go again on our trip next February. We love it, and it has great princess interaction.

We've also done Garden Grill, and while the atmosphere is good, and the characters are great, we didn't like the food. We love Crystal Palace and will go back to O'Hana breakfast. We might also try 1900 Park Fare. Doesn't the Swan or Dolphin do a character meal? I thought they did.

You guys really know your stuff and made some excellent suggestions! I've been working on my wish list and here are my favs. I'm thinking I can only do two but I'm still totaling our budget:

Akershus - breakfast or lunch (not sure yet)
Crystal Palace - lunch
Tusker House - lunch
Be Our Guest - dinner

Plus, I think HDDR for a fun evening meal in addition to the other two. I mean, what's one more ADR between friends? :goodvibes

We are booked at WL from 2/24/13 to 3/2/13. It will be me, my DH and my DS who will be turning 7 on 2/26. He wants to ride Soarin' on his birthday so I'm hoping that Soarin' won't be under refurb while we are there. :scared1:

We have another month until we can make our ADR's, but I'm thinking of the following (with several changes along the way, I'm sure):

*Whispering Canyon - in our resort and we loved the lunch we had there in January.
*Hollywood Brown Derby - Maybe with the Fantasmic experience, maybe not. We missed Fantasmic in January as it was closed, but I'm a sucker for old Hollywood, so I just want to do this restaurant for that aspect.
*Chefs De France - a request of my DH
*T Rex - a possibility for DS's birthday dinner
*Mickey's Backyard BBQ - if it is open in late February. It was closed in January and is also a possibility for DS's birthday dinner.
*CRT (for breakfast) - I was willing to forgo this one since I got to see the castle and princesses in January, but both DH and DS loved the breakfast here.
*Wishes Dessert Party - Also willing to forgo this since I got to experience it once, but DH reminded me of the reserved seating away from the Main Street crowds (he does know me).

We'll be there celebrating my DD's 5th bday on Feb 4th and mine on Feb 5th! :bday:party:

We have less than a week before we need to make dining reservations. I'm not sure I need to worry as much about it this time. We have rarely had problems making changes just before our trip, so I'm not sure that the kind of meals we go for are so popular that we will have trouble finding something we'll like on short notice (a week or so before the trip - not a few hours before the meal!)

We're going to do Rose and Crown for dinner one night, but it'll be at 6pm, and my experience is that folks typically wait to make dinner reservations there until 7pm at least. We're leaving the restaurant just as it is getting crowded.

We are going to aim to do Tusker House for lunch and Artist Point for dinner that night. We did both last year too. We're becoming creatures of habit.

Then Mama Melrose for lunch followed by Whispering Canyon for dinner back at our hotel. I don't think we're going to do any of the evening shows this time, so we'll be arriving early and heading back early. I'm not really happy about Mama Melrose, but we just did Prime Time and we don't like Brown Derby.

The day we're at the Magic Kingdom, I want to do Be Our Guest, and I think we'll make lunch reservations, again since we're likely to go back to the hotel before dinner. I'd really like to do dinner there, but I don't think we'll make it. We'll probably drive over to Sanaa for dinner.

My wife is a big pizza fan so we'll probably go to Via Napoli for lunch one day, heading to Kouzzina for dinner.

ADR is a highlight for me, because it reminds me that we are getting closer to our trip. I get to call mine in on Saturday.

Here is what we picked:
Boma's for breakfast
Whispering canyon cafe for supper

Mama melrose for Fantasmic (never been to mama's)

CS at the Poly for Tonga Toast for breakfast
T-Rex for supper

Akershus for breakfast
Rose & Crown for supper to catch the fireworks (never been)

Sanaa's for supper

Donald's Safari breakfast

Le Chef's de France (never been)

Be Our Guest for early supper
Dessert party for DH birthday

Boma's for supper

Chef Mickey's for breakfast before we leave

We are staying at the AKL and don't have the DDP so I am worried that we have too much booked.

Sounds good!

BOG is counter service for lunch so you don't have to worry about an ADR for that one.

Here are the ADRs that I think we are going to stick with:

Arriving Sat., Feb. 9th (Downtown Disney) - Rainforest Cafe - Dinner

Sunday(EPCOT) - Coral Reef - late lunch

Monday(Animal Kingdom) - No reservation

Tuesday(Magic Kingdom) - BBB - morning /Cindy Royal Table - lunch

Wednesday(Hollywood Studios) - 50s Prime Time Cafe - late lunch

Thursday(Magic Kingdom) - Whispering Canyon Cafe - dinner

Friday(Free day) - Chef Mickey - undecided time

Saturday - Departing WDW

We will try to fit a lunch in at Be Our Guest sometime throughout the trip. I'm hoping the BBB on Tuesday morning will run right into lunch at CRT so my two girls can be all made up for the princesses.

So excited - we booked a Cars suite at AoA today for Feb 9-15. DS will be 5 and will love being near Mater, Lightening et al. It's his first trip and DH and I haven't been since our early teens. Now that we have that done I need to focus on dining. I am thinking of doing Chef Mickey's for supper our first night to get DS used to the characters and get some pictures to *hopefully* free up time at the parks. Every time I come on this board I come up with more questions - there's so much to think about! My sister will be with as well so hoping DH and I can sneak in a date night. Any and all planning tips are greatly appreciated!

We will see you there! :D We are checking in the same day and leaving the day after you!

Excited to find this thread!! We're going Feb. 24-March 2 and will be there over my youngest daughter's 8th Birthday (she also celebrated her 2nd Birthday in WDW). Staying off-site as my in-laws have a timeshare that they're allowing us to use.

Well, actually, then I probably do need to worry, because I think we do want the sit-down experience. Maybe we'll stick around in the park until dinner.

You got me listed under the wrong resort!!! We are booked for AofA, not Port Orleans....we are so hoping for free dining for our week, so we may be changing if AofA isn't covered anyway! Hurry up, FD!!!

I read on another thread that BOG ADR's were opening up on August 28, not sure if this is true or not.

Anyone else hear a date?

If it does start taking ADR's on that date are you all going to try for one first thing that morning or wait till later that day to see if the system crashes?
I think I will be online at 6am, I will be too excited to try to wait!

Hi All,
I just booked my plane tickets yesterday for Feb 25-March 1 so I am in for part of Feb! It will be me, DH, DSS8, DS4, and DD3. We are probably staying in POR in a AB room. Our stepson does not live with us full time so this is our first trip with 3 kids (our December trip is 3 adults and 2 kids so we are staying at AoA. This trip will be a bit more low key -- we are planning on only doing one or two TS and have the rest be CS so that we can fly by the seat of our pants a bit more! Very excited for this trip!
