New MyMagic+ 'Memory Maker' photography package begins Friday

Old vouchers will be honored of course. Memory Maker is virtually the same thing as PP+ just no CD. You can preorder it up to 3 days in advance at $149 or at the parks for $199. I got the be the lucky first customer this morning. I called not knowing anything about this. I called to add PP+ to my package because we leave Wednesday that's when they told me.

I am curious about the bolded. Do you mean that you dont get the CD of stock photos anymore?

Anybody who is in the parks and can see if the Attractions+ package is still being offered? Just hoping with this new photo package they haven't eliminated that ...

From the official site

Forget about having to purchase each photo individually, because you get digital copies of all of them to download and share with family and friends.**

I wish there was a ** footnote, there is just a * one.. I am going to be very disappointed if I have to physically download all of the images and you dont get a CD / DVD even a USB drive would be cool... And if I dont get a real copy of them, they should NOT be deleted..

I think the **is two separate single *'s, one for each of the two single * footnotes.
I am pretty sure there is no disk anymore, but you can obviously burn your own once you have downloaded. Also, I thought I remembered reading that you're not limited to one download anymore but can download multiple times.

I am not impressed with this new ability to download my photos. I purchased PP+ a month ago in preparation for a marathon trip with my girlfriends. I live in Africa. Downloading 100 or more full size photos will literally take days on the network we have here. I was expecting the CDs. I truly will have no use for the photos if they don't come on a CD. Come on Disney, I'm trying to play by your rules but you keep changing them mid-game. :furious:

That is a rough situation. I hope Disney can work with you.

I'm sad that I won't be getting the stock photos. I know that a lot of people have gotten photopass + in the past, so they end up with duplicates, but I really wanted one. Oh well.
Also it looks like you can't order it until right before you leave. I don't like that either. I don't want to have something else to worry about days before I leave!

i see that everything in the parks will remain the same, however, will the restaurant photos still be included? (chef mickey's, tuskerhouse, hoop-de-doo, etc…) i can't find any information on this?

We're travelling with my sister and her family. Different reservations, but we're travelling together. It was always our intention to share the cost of a PhotoPass + like we have in past years. Since Memory Maker is now tied to your MagicBand (read: Reservation), does that mean there will be no more sharing?

Really? I thought you could order it before. Doesn't it even offer a $50 savings to do so?

That stinks :( Do you have anyone in the states that can download them, put them on a CD, and send it to you?

You can still order it anytime just like PP+ - it's either 14+ days before arrival through the website or it can be added to a resort/package reservation 3+ days out.

Restaurant photos are still included. I don't know if the physical copies are still given or just the download copy. It wasn't clear on that part, but they are at least still included in some capacity.

I'm not sure I understand this note from the website https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/memory-maker/...

Important Memory Maker – Advance Purchase Details
Memory Maker Waiting Period
Your Memory Maker window will begin 3 days after the date Memory Maker is purchased. All photos taken outside of your Memory Maker window must be purchased separately.

Does this mean that if I buy it now, but my trip isn't for two weeks, my 45 day window starts ticking in 3 days?? Or did they actually mean that don't wait until the day before because it takes 3 days to be active?? or both? :confused3

AWESOME! and it looks like the price is not changing, also awesome! now my question, i was going to purchase today for my january 18th trip, but it looks like my window would open in three days to start taking pictures, so when does the window close? i'm wondering if i need to wait until closer to purchase the package? Any ideas???

It means that if you buy MM today you will not be able to add/download any pictures taken in the next 3 days. It has a 3 day block out period from the time of purchase. That's how they ensure it can't be added with a discount within 3 days.

The clock doesn't start until the first picture is taken.

Once you download the first photo, you have 30 days to capture more photos. Photos remain in your account for 45 days after they are taken.

I wonder if Disney will ever get competitive with Universal regarding the photo packages.

I am a HUGE Disney fan. We live 10 hours away, but manage to get there 3 times this past year....always driving. My husband's company also had a trip to Universal this summer. I bought their Photo Connect package online for $40 (I think it's $50 in the park.) They had an app where I could immediately see the pictures that were taken and made it super easy to upload to social networks. It included all the digital ride photos (which was a LOT) and pictures taken by their photographers (they don't have nearly as many as Disney). It was very affordable & I loved it!! This included all the digital copies, but no prints. I liked it so much I even bought some extra prints. They also have a ANNUAL package for $50....all the digital downloads you want, which would be awesome if you live close by!!

In my opinion, Disney's Photopass, now Memory Maker, is just too expensive!! I did buy it many years ago before it went over $100. I'm shocked how many people actually pay the $170 for the package. It seems easier to just let the photopass photographer use your camera or phone to take the same pictures they take with their cameras. If their are a few special pcitures with extra backgrounds or images you want, just purchase a few of those individually. It's got to be cheaper than $170!!!

I hope one day Disney will come up with some more affordable options. EX: daily downloads for $20, weekly downloads for $50, annual downloads for $150.....it's just a dream. Don't shoot me for dreaming:)

Thanks for the info. They really need to reword this "Important information" note.

I agree it is expensive. We only use it if we are a group/family sharing the cost and it is a longer trip. Otherwise it is not worth it to us and we have many photos from past trips already.
