Hey girls - I haven't checked in for awhile and I just wanted to give a little update.

Last night at 3am I woke up to find bright red bleeding and clotting. My husband and I got dressed and headed straight to the ER. They did a pelvic exam and found my cervix was still tightly closed and sealed. They did urine and blood work and all was well with that as well. They also found the baby's heartbeat - it was 155. The diagnosed it as a "threatened abortion" and told me to call my regular OB 1st thing monday morning and get an appointment. The OB on call put me on full bedrest until I am able to see my regular OB and she tells me differently. He says it looks good because my cervix is closed, the baby still has a good heartbeat, and my bloodwork is good but I needed to take it extremely easy. This is my 1st pregnancy and I'm very worried and scared. I will be calling my OB 1st thing tomorrow morning and demanding an apt and an ultrasound. Please keep me and my baby in your prayers if you would.

You will be in our prayers! Just take it easy and don't worry (easier said than done, I know). The stress will just make everything worse. Just stay in bed and don't get up unless you have to pee. Keep your feet elevated too! I was in the ER with both of my boys with bleeding and cramping...I know how scary it is. Don't think of it as a "threatened abortion", but rather as a kick in the pants to take it easy for a couple of days!

I absolutely HATE that they term it "threated abortion"! I have been on the couch since we returned from the ER around 6am - I only get up to pee. I will be in touch with my OB first thing in the morning. Thanks for the prayers!

Me too! Why do they call it spontaneous or threatened abortions? Why not miscarriages? Abortions makes it sound like it's your choice to terminate.

The ER nurse said something to DH about his wife having an abortion and he went off on her - he literally had a fit... She apologized and explained that was just the medical term for it - I still don't agree - they could show a little care and not use the "technical" term.

Take it easy DISNEYmooner2008!! There is a lot to be said for taking it down a notch or two We will keep you in our prayers.

We are going in for our first ultrasound next week and am looking forward to it....I am hoping there is just one in there!! I am already filling out clothes I wore almost to the end w/ my first DD...guess that weight gain is not in my imagination !!!!
