New "Mom's to Be" Thread!

I am one of Amanda's friends and just happen to venture over here today and saw a post regaurding "getting banned for morning sickness" and thought to myself "they are talking about Amanda"

Anyway, she got banned because of a moderator on the weddings board. There have been a TON of bannings over on the wedding and honeymoons board lately, and she was one of them. Many people feel that the moderators over there (particularly 1) are being quite unfair about things.... and them speaking their opinions are getting them banned.

Hope that clears a little bit up! I know Amanda has been doing well and misses everyone!

Thanks for the clarification!!! I knew something was up!!! Tell her DISNEYmooner2008 (Amber) says hey and good luck with Prince Eric!!!!!

DznyLvr2005 - she is absolutely beautiful - what a little princess!!!!!

Regarding the pee question - I get up only 2 times a night - maybe 3. BUT during the day it's like I got 2 times an hour!! I'll go, and then not 15 minutes later I need to go again! Super annoying!

OH I go that many times during the day too...but at night lately it is getting annoyting because it is making me very sleepy during the day since I am not getting good REM sleep since I am up about every hour...if I am lucky every 2.

Congratulations, DznyLvr2005!!! She's beautiful! :) I've been thinking about you and am very happy for you! And yay for a quick L&D! When was she born and what were her stats??
Thanks!!
She was born at 2:04 July9th. 6lbs 14oz! I was 37 weeks 3 days. I'm so glad she came a little early, I was so uncomfortable especially after going off the contraction stopping medicine.
Here's some more pics...

It's 4 days post delivery and today I've had some really big clots. I mean one was the size of a plum almost. I dont know if this is normal and I've never even heard of getting them. I called the doctors service and the PA said that my stomach should be hard under my belly button, but it's not at all. Then she said I should be massaging my uterus. Another thing I wasn't told. Anyone know if this is normal????
Thanks!

Clotting is normal, but still talk to your doc. Question, are you breastfeeding or pumping? That will help.

Bottle Feeding. the PA told me to massage below my belly button, but it's still all mushy and she said to me "isn't it hard under there"? like it's supposed to me hard, but it's not, it's just mushy. I had a total of 4 clots, 3 small and that huge one that scared the crap out of me. I hope all is OK though.

You have to massage hard. Really get in there. I remember my nurse after delivery pratically stood on her hands to massage there when I delivered my 2nd. She told me to do a big exhale and that's when she got me. UGH!

Also, if you are doing too much the clotting and bleeding will be worse. Try to take it easy.

When I was pregnant with DS#1, after my morning sickness subsided, I started getting horrible headaches that would last all day for weeks on end. Tylenol wouldn't touch it at all. With it being my first pregnancy (that made it past 7 weeks) since I lost my daughter, I had refused to take anything (they had wanted me to take all these pills).

Now, it's happening again. The only difference is now I have 2 kids and can't lay on the couch all day long like I did last time.

Has anybody had these headaches with pregnancy...and what did you do to combat them? Oh, and this time....bring on the pills!!!

I had nightmarish headaches with #2 and this pregnancy. Again, Tylenol wouldn't touch it. My OB suggested non-asprin Excedrin and believe it or not, it totally worked. I've never experience headaches like those before, and wow, they can really knock you for a loop.
Good Luck!

I was having AWFUL headaches w/ this third pregnancy, and a lot more fatigue.

I opted for the chiropractor and feel A TON better. I went mulitple times, and he also did some traction/stretching for my neck and even showed my husband how to do this at home for me to relax my neck/shoulders.
I feel like a new person!!!

My girlfriend thinks the headaches might be related to the fact that I am sleeping so much more than normal...naps, being on the couch, going to be early ... my body is not used to that much laying down! So, I also got a new pillow (from the chiro) for side sleeping and WOW has that helped too!!

I hope you are feeling better soon too!!

By the way, my OB's office said maybe cutting out 100% caffeine might be to blame and said to go ahead and have up to 2 servings per day if it helped w/ the headaches...

Well, I passed my glucose screening!!!! YEAH! Tomorrow is rhogham and heading to the beach for a long weekend before I'm banned.

The hospital at the beach doesn't have anesthesia on the weekends! YIKES! Basically they give you a piece of bark to chew on.

Congratulations on passing your "exam"!!! With last pregnancy I just slid through by one point (or number, whatever they call it)...hopefully I'll squeak through again!

I see you are a fellow RH- gal! Gotta love those shots. I find (after getting shots every week last time) that if you stand up, but don't put pressure on the leg (butt cheek ;) ) getting the shot, it's much better later on.

Have fun at the beach!!!

Luckily I've only needed the one shot with each pregnancy, and since it's where the sun doesn't shine, I really don't think too much about it.

How's your headaches?

Oh, I see your off to Disney soon. I found some Disney maternity shirts at Walmart for my last trip. I like to look like a tourist like everyone else... ;) Have you done Disney while pregnant before?

Okay.... when did the shot move from your backside to the arm? I went for the shot and the nurse came to me and asked which arm....?!?!?!? She said it changed......

Man it burns too!

I got mine in the arm (where I'd rather get it there than the backside) and didn't think anything of it. Shot didn;t really bother me painwise...I just felt a slight tingle for maybe an hour. I only had to have one rhogram shot and then possibly another after he is born if his blood is positive. Why were one of you having to get it every week?? I thought one was supposed to last until birth??

I need a little reassurance. Do you ever stop worrying? I had a TERRIBLE dream last week about loosing the babies, because I recently heard about a friend of a friend who lost her son at 22 weeks. I think I'm feeling them kick, but it's very subtle and rare, at the most, once a day, and I'm a terrible pessimist. Most of my morning sickness has dissappeared over the last week. I can't shake the feeling that something is wrong. I just get this feeling that the rest of my life will be full of non-stop stressing about the little ones and what can and will go wrong.

I assume this is normal, but I think maybe I just need to hear it from other people. Luckily I have a doc's appt. tomorrow, so hopefully they'll reassure me :)
