Circumcision is starting to become the exception rather than the norm in some places. What is your view on this procedure?

I had Sam circumcised. I did do some reading on the subject, and when it cam down to it, I probably did it more for aesthetics than anything. I just think it looks better! I know that there are a lot of theories and myths that have been disproven about circumcision, like cleaning or wanting your child to look like daddy or look like everyone else. The fact is that with cleaning, you basically wash a normal until he is older and the foreskin seperates, then they need to be taught to clean. Any as you stated, many people are opting not to circumsise, so not all boys will look the same anyway. I still opted to do it and am happy with my decision.

After 9 weeks of bedrest, lots of monitoring and intervention, a not-so-simple pregnancy and more anticipation than we could have ever imagined, we finally got to meet and hold Elise Nicole and Avery Jade! Both girls are doing well, and haven't left our side since their initial assessment. Mom had a bit of a time with the anesthesia, etc (why not?) but is doing much better now! The c-section itself was uneventful, and the babies were thriving from the beginning! Our doubled-in-size family is all doing well!

8:35am ~ 5lb, 15oz ~ 19.5 inches

Avery Jade Kaufman
8:36am ~ 5lb, 1 oz ~ 18.5 inches

We are feeling blessed beyond measure! After wondering if we would ever get this opportunity, we have been doubly blessed, and are so excited to continue this journey! God has been so faithful in getting us this far, and - despite them still coming a month early - everyone is happy, healthy, and ready to go home as soon as they'll let us!

Woo hoo! So glad I got to see the update and pictures before I have to head to the hospital too. Congrats, Jen! Elise and Avery are absolutely gorgeous and precious! I'm glad you all are doing well and that the girls will be able to go home with you.

Octoberbeauty~ Noah is gorgeous too! I think he looks like you!

Re: Circumcision~ Yep, Cohen will be circumcized. I don't care if others do it or not but dh and I both prefer to have him circumcized and will be having that done.

I guess I'm next on the list...unless SummerMomof3 checks in or someone else goes early! I have my last dr.'s appt. tomorrow and will do all the pre-op stuff then. I go in bright and early Wed. morning for my c-section. I will try to update and post pictures this weekend if possible or next week at the latest as I won't be able to check in from the hospital.

I hope you all have a great week! I have a feeling I won't be on here again before Cohen is born since tomorrow should be busy...but you never know.

We're going to have 3 people recovering from c-sections! Fun, fun, fun! I have a rash on my entire torso. Not sure if it's from the spinal or from the Vicodin I'm taking. Think I'm going to skip one and see if it helps. Pain or itchy rash? Don't like either choice!!

We had Noah circumsized. It's getting better. I'm ready for him to be healed.
