New "Mom's to Be" Thread!

Well I went and had my ultrasound today! It's a BOY! 10 fingers and 10 toes and healthy. We are very blessed. We took DD4 with us to the appointment so she could see the baby.

I have to admit I am a little disappointed. I really wanted a girl and the thought of getting rid of all of the clothes I packed away from DD4 is just making me so sad.

To make her and I feel a bit better we went shopping and bought her a giant Disney Princess paint, stamp, and coloring set. I told her at least she didn't have to share her princesss things with her brothers now.... unless she wanted too.

Anyway, the baby is healthy and I am thankful for that. Now I just have to get used to the idea of only one little princess in my life....

Congratulations on your little boy! It is very special to have one princess, I'm sure, as well! I understand the initial "coming to terms" though, with whatever the ultrasound shows! I'm so happy he's healthy and thriving!

Could I please join in?? I just found out we are pregnant with little miracle #1!! My period wasn't expected for 4 more days, but I could just tell something was different. I've been having terrible mood issues and emotional issues and I've also felt pretty terrible for about 4-5 days. I took a dollar store test and an equate test this morning and both were positives. Then I ran to walmart at 7am and bought a Clear Blue Digital, took it, and it said "Pregnant" I am so thrilled!!! DH was at work when I tested, so this will be a total shock for him!!! I plan on telling him when he gets home. I cooked a special "baby dinner" for him (BABY back ribs, BABY corn, BABY carrots) and also bought him an I Love My Daddy bib, and 2 little gender neutral Clemson tigers baby outfits (our favorite team!!!). We have bought a few things like onesies and bibs for our future baby whenever we did have one, so when I give this to him he probably won't really think much about it. Then at the bottom of the bag I put the digital test!! I have my camera ready - I can't wait until he gets home!!!! My mom is thrilled also! I was SO nervous about telling her because I am young (20) and we JUST got married in January and I knew she wanted us to wait a pretty good while before having a baby..... This morning she came over to my house and I asked her if she promised she would always love me and be there for me - she of course said yes. She looked at me and said "you are pregnant, aren't you?" I told her yes and showed her the test and she was SO EXCITED!!!!!! We spent the day together looking at baby things. She bought a few outfits and bought me 3 maternity outfits!! She really made me feel alot more at peace and not quite so nervous!! Anyway, I'll quit rambling - I'm just so excited!!!! I'll probably post again after I tell DH!!

btw - I haven't seen a doc obviously, but after plugging my info in on a website on the net it told me judging by my last period and my cycle length my Estimated Due Date is January 9, 2009. DH and my anniversary is January 5, 2009, so that's really neat!!

Congrats DVCsince02 on your little boy! I also wanted a little girl, but it didn't take long to get excited about a little boy. (Of course, I'm still hoping we can try one more time.....)

Congratulations on your pregnancy DISNEYmooner2008! I can just feel your excitement through the screen. Wishing you a happy and healthy 9 months. Let us know how telling your hubby goes. I did the same thing with mine the first time and he was thrilled when he opened the package.

AFM: I've almost got the nursery done. Just waiting on the border to come in and two Peter Pan lithographs I ordered off Ebay. Once I get all that put up then it will be finished!!

btw - I haven't seen a doc obviously, but after plugging my info in on a website on the net it told me judging by my last period and my cycle length my Estimated Due Date is January 9, 2009. DH and my anniversary is January 5, 2009, so that's really neat!!

I can completely sympathize. I spent hours crying my eyes out, and I wasn't even sure WHAT I wanted. I think it's just an adjustment when you find out what you ARE having, and then of course, what you are not.... regardless of what you are hoping for, it's something that I think you really have to process. I sure did, anyway!

Just jumping in, since I found the thread. I used to post on the old one, but I have been away from the boards since just after our January trip and lost the thread somehow.

So, the news since I was here last... Definitely due Aug 8 (8/8/08 - how cool is that?!), and all is going smoothly. Failed my 3hr glucose test by a couple points, so I'm watching my sugar and my diet but so far so good. My doc isn't thrilled with the consequences of that, because on a lower-carb diet I'm losing weight, but everything else is healthy. And best of all, we found out it is another girl! DD6 is so excited about having a little sister!!

Glad I found you all again, and hope all is well with all!

Well my baby boy is 2 months old...can't believe it. He had his checkup today and he is now 22 1/2 in. and weighs 11 1/4lbs!!

Congrats!! It's difficult to wrap your mind around something especially if in your heart you hoped for something else. My only (so far) is a one year old baby boy. He has been such a joy, watching him grow. Obviously I have nothing to compare to but to watch him take a truck and drive it around when he has a mickey doll and another baby next to him on the floor. It's amazing ... Now your big girl will have a baby brother that will love her and protect her for the rest of her life. My little brother is three years younger than me and very protective ...

I go to ob/gyn on the 27 of may . it will be a belated birthday present to me since my birthday is the 5th of may. well it will be a belated birthday present for grandpa my father lol his birthday is the day before mine. I'm on iron pills right now but i've been sooo sleepy lately

hi all!! just wanted to pop in and say welcome to all the new moms to be!!

i go to the doctor on thursday to see if i'm any more dialated. i'm really hoping so, but i'm also hoping that since i live in reno where all the earthquakes have been happening, that i don't go into labor during on or that one happens while i'm in the hospital.
