Just discovered a new iPhone application that should be perfect for a WDW trip. It's called "Take me to my car" and it's free. I haven't tried it yet, but apparently when you park your car you use this application to mark where you are parked (using the built in gps function) and then when you are ready to make that long trek back to the car it shows you the walking route.

I can see this being helpful in those large parking lots and finding your car among all the similar looking white rental cars.

We were discussing this one at work last week, since two of us lost our rental cars. However, since we were in a parking garage, we didn't think it would help in that case - I don't think it could tell which floor you were on.

But I am going to get it.

I've got an I pod touch. Do you think they would put WiFi in the parking areas for me to use this?
:worship: :rotfl2:  :rolleyes1 :surfweb: :flower3:

I usually snap a picture of the section/lane name plus the surroundings with my digital camera.

I did a low tech method a couple of times---wrote the section on my hand with a pen. The bad thing was that the ink was almost too worn off by the time we caught the tram.

In addiiton to noting the section name and row number you should do something to make your car stand-out in tha parking lot - especially if you are renting a car as there will be tons that all look the same.

You can tie a hankerchief/bandana on the antenna or if the car doesn't have an antenna you can put something brightly colored on the dashboard to help you pic your car out of the crowd.

Most people will remember the row and section they parked in but then have trouble finding their vehicle becuase everyone rented the same color mini-van for their vacation.

I just email myself the exact location using my blackberry. This even works in parking garages :)

One night, after a long day at the MK I was carrying my then four year old daughter in my arms, plus all the stuff that we "had" to have for a day at Disney. I spent better than a half hour walking around looking for my car before remembering that I was in a rental car, good thing the key tag had a description of the car.

Hey, I was tired!

After losing my car in the Animal Kingdom parking lot this past June (where it was surface of the sun hot), I will employ all of these methods to find my car next May! I plan on having an iPhone by then too!

Wow, what will Steve Jops come up with next!! I know, how about an app that will find your iphone for you when you forgot where you put it down!

I forgot, it is already here, it is called a pants pocket.

Mack users can't do anything without Apple telling them what to do. Sad.

Lol...they are little clones aren't they...and think all the mac user are trying to be different...just like each other ;)

BTW, I have a mac laptop before you flame me :thumbsup2

My daughter is six and loves her MacBook... They are great computers for the price. You can run the new ones in Windows or OS-X mode.

I won't even address that your 6 yo has a computer ;) Cause my 3 yo has one!! :rotfl2:

But Macs are a lot of things, I love mine, but you can get much more power for the price from a PC.
