You got lucky with your disbuted charges than that the bank could recover your money back from the business. It is not like a credit card where you are only responsible for the first $50.00. A debit card is all reliant on the bank recovering your money from the business. If the business refuses to give the money back you are out the money. The bank will not eat the cost for a debit card like they do for a credit card.
If you don't belive me or want more info look it up online or call your bank.
This is not true. I have been a manager at a bank for 15 years. This falls under EFT. If your debit card has a Visa logo, you are covered after the first $50. The bank actually takes the loss in most cases. I could go in greater detail, but I'm too busy trying to accomplish something today while going crazy over this site. But, I will be using my debit card and your debit card is safe as far as fraud.
