I have a receipt that says my room was $0. They can't add money to that without my permission and I did use my super-cool platinum card for the extra protection.
It isn't like this is a company I've not heard of before, and I have friends who have booked travel with them in years past and got decent deals.
I also score really well on Priceline, so I'm probably less cynical than you are, based on experience.
Not trying to scare anyone I am just cautious. A few years ago I got a phone call for what seemed like a great vacation at a great price but you had to book over the phone that minute. Well was I ever happy I didnt book it when I found out the reputation of this company. As they say you get what you paid for. Many people booked hotel rooms and cruises through them and got run down ships and dirty run down rooms and not the luxury they were promised.
I am also more cautious when it comes to booking on the internet since the company can be gone once this promotion is over with and you do not really know where they are located either. There are a lot of scams ran on the internet that seem legit. Have they done promotions like this in the past? If not than you still have nothing to go on. This could be a good indication that things might not be what they seem. The company could be in trouble and are planning on bailing out but before they do they are looking to take people for a ride first. Also does anyone know how long they have been in business for? Until a month or so ago I had never heard of them.
Nothing is impossible it has happened in the past.
I'm just saying be cautious and if you feel like something isn't right about it in your gut don't do it esp. if you are using a debit card. You have no protection at all with a debit card.
