I'm not sure if this is the same agency for the S/D.

ALL...so much for the wonderful & kind posts. I'm sorry I failed to post yesterday. I was still recovering from the events of Saturday. I enjoyed reading all of your supportive words, and also some alarming accident experiences as well (MOM POPPINS...that was VERY SCARY!). I was so rattled by the experience, I did not get good sleep over the past two eves. We even dined out over the entire weekend, as I was too frazzled to cook...(or even think straight). It was very unnerving. But, God is great...and we are all blessed to be together, as a healthy and loving family. *A Special thank you, to our blessed Angels.

DD has recounted the event to all of her friends, teachers and nearly everyone she meets. As I watch her tell the story, I am reminded of the impact this has had upon her. She seems to gain a resolute calmness and strength with each verbal recount. Everyone is always astounded by the story.

While dining together in Marie Callender's on Sat Eve...DD encountered some friends from school. They all visited our table, hugging DD and asking about her new car. She began to explain the details, and the accident, when two of them excitedly exclaimed, "We were there too! We passed a huge BOAT tipped on it's side in the middle of the roadway, and wondered aloud WHAT it was DOING there? We saw the Highway Patrol, and a crane/tow truck, big truck, etc." Wow...how ironic these two girls were a short distance behind us on the same road. They were "shocked" when DD explained exactly "HOW" the boat arrived at the location in the roadway. They also gave the blessings to God, and the Angels which accompanied us on this trip.

DD drove her vehicle to school for the first time yesterday. She parked it in the "teacher's" parking lot (where I used to park when dropping her off/picking her up). All of her teachers came out to admire it, offering praise and compliments (she was on top of the world). :) She picked up the form for her STUDENT parking permit yesterday, and will drop it off with the payment this afternoon (to obtain her pass). She's apprehensive about the student lot, as they drive too fast, etc. I told her to use caution & common sense, be alert and aware.

She was dismissed early yesterday, due to the recent passing of two members of the same family. Last week, a woman whom is highly revered in the community passed. Three of her sons teach at DD's H.S. (she had seven children, all educated in the same Catholic Schools as DD, with four of them becoming teachers in these schools). She was 81 years young. Her grandson, age 6, passed three days after her. His mother was DD's first-grade teacher, and his father is her current H.S. Art teacher. This little fella was battling cancer, and had his leg amputated last fall. It is tragic, as he was seemingly doing better (his passing was sudden). It was a very sad day yesterday, as both of the services were held in our church. There were hundreds (possibly thousands) of persons present. At least, they are together in the kingdom of Heaven, (and the little boy is with his nurturing Grandmother & God).

The windows in DD's Beetle were all tinted yesterday. LIMO in the back, and DARK in the front (One shade lighter than LIMO). She is very pleased with it. My black Truck is all LIMO-D ~ out! (LOL). The windows are completely Black. It saves my light Grey leather interior from the harmful UV rays of the CALI sun. I'll post pics soon.

Okay, enough about me....^_^

MOM POPPINS~HOW ADORABLE! I collect Barbies...and DD has enjoyed them since she was a toddler. I'm tempted to buy one of these bugs for myself (LOL). DD also had power wheels as a youngster (Jeep, corvette), and enjoyed many, many hours of fun driving around the yard/neighborhood. She even remarked to me yesterday, how "toy-like" her Beetle feels when she drives it. Just like a little POWERWHEEL! Made me LOL. :p She's a very good driver, so some of her skills may actually be attributed to all her younger years spent behind the wheel of an electric car (would make a great thesis).

Disbug~ HELLO! So glad to see your post from inside the MAGIC. Thank you for taking the time to contact us and let us know all is well. After this weekend...I can use the distraction of some news from inside the WORLD of DISNEY. It is a wonderful place to escape all the trappings of reality. (Is that the Webphone in the spaceship earth attraction?) ENJOY!!

Debbie~I've recounted your DD's PARKING LOT experience to many friends, and they always gasp at the thought! I believe these stories we share help us in our own lives (similar situations). Without such references, we would be oblivious. Thank you, again, for sharing and reminding me/DD of the imminent danger present in student parking areas.

Zurgswife~HOORAY! The package arrived, and you are all set until your next visit. ;) So happy to read your DD is finally over the worst, and feeling better. She was truly beginning to worry me. Especially with all the confusion regarding her ailment. It began to mimic mono. Again, so relieved she is feeling better. LOTS of TLC from mom will work wonders!

Mouseteacher~It's just incredible what some people will do! What a crazy nut. Driving over all those barriers, which no one in their RIGHT MIND would traverse, and brazenly in front of everyone's view. Mind-boggling, to say the least. I'm baffled by the same idiots whom drive about one inch from the bumper of the "motorcycle" in front of them. Or, cut into the BIKE LANE while some kids on bicycles are terrified & pushed to the curb/crash. I'm sure my neck muscles get a good "daily" work-out from all the HEAD-SHAKING I perform! (LOL).

Take care everyone, and thank you again....for the heartwarming responses to DD's traumatic drive home. I can only praise God, repeatedly, for the blessings we experienced. It was an invaluable lesson, albeit a rough one, which DD is not soon to forget.

God Bless all of you...and your loved ones. XO

*On Topic....I LOVE the sunsets in the summer over WDW. I especially love watching them over the World Showcase, and while dining in the CALI GRILL overlooking the MAGIC KINGDOM (our second home!).

Always, TTFN....

*all caught up!* I love reading everyone's posts! This truly is a unique and lovely thread! *humming We are family, in the background*

I am off in 20 minutes... for hockey? yes.. but.. FOR REDWINGS HOCKEY! We have four tickets plus passes for tonight's game! I called ds's coach last night to let him know, and that I wouldn't be there to hand out schedules, either. In just a few we'll be taking the long drive down to hockeytown to see my beloved Wings! Go WINGS!

Have a great night everyone!
Debbie aka Miss Redwing

I just became plat. Starwood, any ideas what type of upgrade I will get? I do not know if it makes a difference but i will be paying teacher rate at the Dolphin in March.

DF~ So good to hear from you - I was a little concerned since I didn't hear from you after you posted about that awful day. I can certainly understand that it takes time to bring the emotions down to a reasonable level after such a trauma.

mattkatie7~ Welcome! Plat definitely gets you comp Club Level. Ozzie and DF are plat. and will have more details. Alas, I am just gold...;) :D

Off to an Appreciation Evening for major donors to our Annual Fund. I must be "on" and give an inspirational presentation on how important their investment is in our school. I always worry that I will not give my best speech. I try to speak from the heart rather than memorize a speech. It feels more personal.

Will check in tomorrow or later this evening - if I'm not too tired.

TTFN! :) Thinking of madge and Disbug "in the magic"!

mattkatie7, The S/D treat Plat SPG members very well. You will be upgraded to a Jr. Suite with club level privs. You don't have to be on the CL floor to use CL. We are Plat SPG and email our request shortly after we make our reservation. It is wise to add your Plat SPG number to your request. We have had great results doing this.

Mouseteacher, Good luck tonight! I'm sure your speech will be great. Just be your wonderful self and you will shine...

DF, Sorry to hear about your close call! That was very scary reading your post! I'm glad there was a happy ending...

Waving to Hockeymom, disbug, Ozzie, Madge and everyone else!

Muffy

THanks,Muffy and Mouseteacher !
Muffy, What kind of a request do you make? What is a Jr. Suite like? Thanks!!!

Due to the changes implemented after 9/11, and the crunch ($$ loss) the Airlines have suffered, I've Lost my non-stop FC service to MCO from LAX.

I spent the better part of today, arranging and rearranging dates, times and flights to best coordinate our travels. I adamently refuse to spend the $$/skymiles points on FC, Only to receive a SNACKon a cross-country flight! Therefore, I had to keep changing our intinerary, so we would receive BF on the departing flight, and Dinner on the return. All are on 767's (300/400), and all are FC with the exception of one flight, which refers to our FC leg as "business elite" (LOL).

I believe, I'm finally settled with a flight. I had to push it forward one more day (Sat. July 10), which actually makes it nicer "traffic-wise" through Los Angeles. There are SO many flights available, but I do not want to arrive in MCO at midnight, etc. (not if we have a choice). We are set to arrive around 5pm (perfect for us).

Now...I'm sure DELTA will probably change the flights, and offer a non-stop w/FC service to MCO before we leave. So...I'll be watching for it, and change it asap when it posts. All this stress/work for nothing.

mattkatie7~Yes, PLAT is awesome! You'll receive the BEST treatment, and nice perks/upgrades. Enjoy!

Mouseteacher~Thanks for your concern. Throwing myself into our future WDW plans is the BEST way to avoid the stress associated with the events of this past weekend. Have fun this eve. I'm sure you'll do fine, as you are linguistically talented and very forthcoming w/pure flowing dialect from the heart! *BTW...YOU are not "JUST" GOLD...you are SOLID GOLD (to me)!
;)

#1hockeymom~Have a GREAT TIME at the WINGS game! Wow...we are an exciting bunch here...with very EXCITING LIVES!

Muffy~Thank you. I too, am happy (though STILL a bit scattered) all is well. I feel like I need sleep, as though the "trauma" of what could have happened somehow affected my psyche (?). A good NAP would do wonders for me...but there is not enough hours in the day for that! Take care.

TTFN...DF99

HI everyone! I am envious of Disbug and the 77 degree weather in WDW tonite, while I sit here in the 40's with a possibility of SNOW tomorrow or thursday!!!!!!

But not for long..... only 8 more days!!!!

Mouseteacher: good luck on your speech, those donors are important to Catholic education!!! I am sure you will be great, you always seem to know just the right thing to say here:D

DF: sounds as if you are a little post traumatic stressed!! I am sending healing, calming pixie dust your way;)

Hockeymom-- GO WINGS!!

On topic- Can anyone recommend an item to try at Tubbi's that is their favorite??

Happy Tuesday, I hope it is a snowless wednesday here!

No, they do not. If by chance, you are charged a resort fee, call the desk and inform them you are aware it is "waived" for PLAT. SPG members. ;)

disfanRN ~Thanks! I knew our resident RN would know the official name of my current "state" of mind. You are absolutely correct, and it is a very REAL ailment. I just feel "drained", even though we went through physically unscathed. So...I guess the mental scathing was sufficient to cause these emotions, and exhaustion. Thank you, again...for the TLC and extra theraputic "PD", etc.

*On Topic...Tubbi's Favorite? Mmmmm, chicken noodle soup (home made), chocolate pudding, and the PIZZA. Oops..that's three. There's more too...so I guess I truly ENJOY Tubbi's!

Thanks Disbug's DH!

 HI LOU!

TTFN...DF99

:wave2: Right back at ya DF!

mattkatie7 you have been added to the DIS Class Yearbook

To All: Disbug's husband and I are not speaking in code. She was kind enough to check an item number for me for something we could not find last trip.

What a network!

Actually I liked the Tuna Salad sandwiches at Tubbi's. I usually don't dare eat Tuna salad out except for Subway since the taste can vary so much. But I ate them at Tubbi's a couple of times!

Sure Lou, whatever you say. I think it has something to do with the Yearbook ;)

Lou, LOL, I was thinking you and Disbug were in some covert operation---;) !

Thanks, everyone for your kind words. All went very well last evening. We had 2 graduates who are now juniors in HS speak on the value of their education at our school. They brought tears to my eyes - such awesome kids!

disFanRN~ SNOW!!!! Oh, no... not something I would want see so early. Let's hope it doesn't head over to the northeast from your neck of the woods.

Have a great day! Wishing I were with disbug and madge.

Mouseteacher - glad your evening went well. When our school was going through Middle States Accreditation last year, our son had a major part in the video that the school presented. He was also interviewed for TV regarding the 9/11 anniversary and so many people said they couldn't believe how "mature" he was. (even the Director of his Pre-School ......some 9 years before) I think the great foundation he received at his school (also Catholic) has contributed immensely to his self confidence and ability to communicate on an adult level. (among other things) I can see him being called in the future as a shining star example as well. Kudos to you for all of your efforts. Your former students are a direct reflection of you and your staff.

Mary
