All new course sounds interesting, and the Halloween Family 5k sounds interesting too.

Looks like fun. I hope they mean registration starts November 16, 2009.:rotfl:

So Dave, how young is too young to run/walk a 5K?

Wow - normally my M.O. is I don't run unless I am being chased, but this sounds so fun it's the first time I've ever even considered doing a marathon. :teeth:

That's a tough question, and really depends on the child. My youngest daughter ran a 5K when she was 6. It took us an hour, but she did it. We trained 3 months for it, and I was by her side the whole way. We walked when she wanted and had a good time. I think if you don't push them too hard, and give time to train, kids are fine.

Thanks. I was just trying to get an idea. It seems like the 5K is suppose to be fun so I will wait until there are more details. He will be just 6 at that time and loves to run.

The half marathon looks like fun, but I am not sure if I could pull it off.

Thanks for the update! I can't wait to hear about the 5k too. I started training about 2 months ago, with a goal of going to the EE5k.. but then they changed the date! Maybe this race will be even better! :goodvibes

Man, all this time, I thought that's what we were DOING during DATW....

My kids ran their first one at age 5. They all LOVE it. They are forever asking when their next one is. Disney races are also great for walkers and those who do a run/walk combo which is a great alternative for young kids.

DAVE--I am so excited about this for the after hours party alone! OMG, after hours during food and wine in Epcot?!?!?! SIGN. ME. UP.

this sounds interesting...we are going to be there at the same exact time next year

An October half fits perfectly into my race calendar next year but it will depend on how life goes for the next few months.

Hey Dave, do you think we'd be able to throw together a group for this one???

Todd, Kim and I are coming in on the 2nd. Because of this I might come in early. I plan on staying at POR. This sounds like fun.

We will definitely be there, just haven't worked out the schedule yet. A nightime race (walk) sounds like a blast.
