Did anyone get a Switch 2?

DS & his friends pulled an all-nighter, they went to GameStop at 12:30am and waited outside until the store opened at 12 noon . They were all set up with lawn chairs, blankets and plenty of food. DS said he had a lot of fun and was happy they did this together. Memories!

I got a pre-order to go through on Walmart and Best Buy! I was hoping for Target with my CircleCard, but the website was a complete mess. Hoping neither retailer cancels on me, but if one doe,s I have a backup. I'll cancel one closer to release day since I only need one console.

I am glad he had a good time! I remember going to midnight releases for game titles. It was always exhilarating!

Ordered the Switch 2 from Best Buy last night. Took forever in queue but got it and didn’t have to try at GameStop today.

I got one through Target too - had the same issue with invalid address and payment. You just had to keep trying repeatedly and after awhile my order finally went through and my order hasn't been cancelled so far. I wish they would have done a virtual queue instead because the Target app was acting awful. The website didn't even work at all for me, only the app.

There is an Amex offer on cards earning Amex Membership Rewards points...spend $150+ at Amazon and get 1200 membership rewards points (can be done up to 3 times for a total of 1200 points). Personally, I'm not jumping at this one as that is only 8% (9% if you count the additional point you would get for spending $150), but others might find this useful if you spend a lot at Amazon.

Lol, sorry, I haven’t been keeping up with the thread so well. We’d just gotten back from a roadtrip to Montreal for spring break. And now I’ve gone into fixing up the planning for our Memorial Day weekend trip to Disney World before I go into all the things for Japan (getting lightning lanes has got nothing on trying to get sunset Shibuya Sky tickets).

Glad your son got the preorder - there really were no deals to be had, it was just try to get it anywhere before scalpers grabbed them. I stayed up until 2 am refreshing and I felt awful yesterday (didn’t help that I picked up a virus in Montreal).

FYI this happened to me last time there was a $180/200 sale. I talked with a customer rep (online chat) and they said the membership limit resets every 30 days. Hard limit, no exceptions since it's same SKU they use for the eGCs on the website.

I came here to discuss ^... I've been on the DGC thread for a few years and this is the first I have ever heard Of Sam's Club limits reset every 30 days. I'm not doubting you were told this @gerarar , it certainly sounds plausible and could explain a lot. However, we have had peeps post otherwise and for years too. I tried to open the discussion before but may have worded it differently perhaps causing confusion. IDK.

I was trying to understand how some were able to buy 4 $XXX DGC one week and make the same exact purchase, as reported, two - three weeks later.

• Did they use the same account
• Did they use a specific credit card
• How long have they maintained a membership

What's the variable here? And now in 2025, have things changed for everyone?

And to keep everyone on the same page, Post #2 Discount District houses all the DP's that I'm aware of. The 30 Day Limit Reset is not on there.

For those still interested in buying DGC at Sam's, I would at least try. Hopefully others will chime in.

Wow! Maybe my problem was attempting both the app and website? I swear I tried for 25 minutes straight!

I agree about the queue. Walmart started 2 minutes before 12am ET and Best Buy 28 minutes late, but they both worked very well for me.

I swear I didn't notice this AT ALL! Between the change in release day/time and scarcity I didn't get any deal at all. I was just so happy to get to checkout that my Walmart console is on a Citi card earning 1% back and Best Buy console is on an Amex via Apple Pay for 1% back. That's it!

I saw screenshots on social media that the Target category coupons like 15 off 100 worked on the console so maybe that could help for games? I wouldn't touch anything like address or payment type on a preorder at this point because retailers could cancel for any reason.

What in trying to figure out is whether I can make a single $150 purchase and get the 1,500 MRs or if I have to do 3x $50. The T&Cs aren't helping, but I think last time (December?) the bigger purchase worked

I had no clue about the newest console that's how out of touch I was. I didn't even know who was offering pre-orders. I went to slickdeals and a few other sites and was schooled. And after ALL that, DS tells me he and his friends were planning on camping out at GameStop. Had he started out with that, it would have saved me so much time. Oh, that crazy son of mine!!!!
