I just booked free dinning for May/June !!!!!!
Took only 5 min. online !!!!!!!

Dates ~ May 30 - June 12 (14 days/13 nights)
Resort ~ Pop Century (Standard Room)
Total ~ $2520 (2 adults/2 teens that are also "adults")

Star Wars Weekends here we go AGAIN !!!!!!!!

Had to hold for a little more than an hour, and had to switch my dates to a week later, but it was worth it. 8 nights at Pop, preferred, 9-day hoppers, QSDP -- was $2135, now $1698 for DS(14) and I. That will pay for our airfare!!

Was going 2/4-2/12, but the FD ends on 2/3 for some strange reason. So, changed to 2/11-2/19 and all is well. Have a week more to save up.

You could have just moved your arrival date to 2/3 and stayed until 2/11. You only have to ARRIVE within the listed dates.

Anyone know what the difference is between booking online or by phone? I know I have to pay the deposit immediately if I book online but what about change penalties, etc..

We were thinking of upgrading our December tickets to an AP because we're planning another trip next October. But it seems like the non-AP holders keep getting offered the discounts first! Doesn't sound like Disney is showing much love to their AP holders lately...

So what I'm wondering is...the % discount is room only? Does that apply to packages (I've heard that they don't do "room only" anymore but they call it a base package or something)? Because even though my trip is booked, I got online and recalculated it and it comes up like $550 cheaper....BUT that's not 30% so I don't get it?

Can you get the GC if you get the % discount too, or just one or the other?

Are these the only discounts their going to release? Definitely far from what I was hoping for if so.

You can get either the room discount or the gift card, not both. You can add tickets and dining to a room only discount.

I just posted similar feelings on the AP offer thread. Not only are the AP rates the last out there this past year, many room types aren't included at least my experience for this past Feb and also the offers require multiday ticket purchases, therefore, making it a big extra expensive cost for the AP holders. I know the tickets are good for future use, but just how many can you collect esp. with 2 day minimums for the offers this year. I did have 4 of the 1 day from past offers for FD and a $500 giftcard (at values in 2009) but used them this Feb to upgrade to APs for 3 of us and a 5 day for someone not returning again within a year. I guess WDW knows we will either come back anyway OR waste the rest of an AP! Either way they have our money. Not as much need to coax us back I guess is the new thought process at WDW! I wrote on the other thread how I really don't think an AP will be the way to go in the future at least for us! Maybe less trips to WDW! We only upgraded to an AP based on the 30% off Mod PIN I got just before we whent but we got a better discount with the bounceback rate given while there (35% off mod) for November/December.

OK, the 30% is off the room rate ONLY. So you are still paying full freight for your tickets and your dining package.

Example (not real numbers):
Room without discount: 1000
Dining: 1000
Tickets: 500
Total = 2500

Now,
Room with discount: 700
Dining: 1000
Tickets: 500
Total = 2200

It's not 30% off the package; it's 30% off the room. Does that help?

I don't think there are any differences in change penalties etc. If you book online you can only make changes via the phone at that point. Online you have to look closely and make sure you are applying the discounts etc. Access the discounts through the special offers link -- they won't automatically give you the lowest price. Look at all options carefully like room type, vacation insurance, etc. All but vacation insurance can be changed later if more than 45 days out though.

Yes, it will work if you have a package.
