New D23 Expo Superthread! (6/24/2019)

I activated both mine and my husbands badges through the D23 app on our phones. My husband got his confirmation email immediately, while I haven't received anything.

I went back to check my badge number and it asked for my email. I put my email and it says it doesn't match the order! Anyone got this?

Same for me - I was able to redeem one but not the second because it was processing, then sold out.

Did anyone receive the follow-up e-mail after completing the confirmation phone call? The cast member on the phone said I would receive an e-mail with details about the event, but I haven't received anything yet.

I was able to redeem from DMR and the cast member I spoke with said the email should go out early next week. Also since it's just me attending the expo and Disneyland event, she said I could call back before the 22nd if I wanted to add a guest.

Wonder how many people will be part of the celebration and if we will have time to ride one or two rides?

Because I have single day badges for Friday and Saturday, I'm wondering if I have to log in twice (once for each badge) to make reservations. Each badge has a different number on it.

Based on this info in their Top 10 tips, it seems you would have to log in with each badge ID separately

2. Have your badge number and email ready
To make Advance Online Reservations, you will need to log in using the activated badge number and the email address you provided to activate your badge

Some of their FAQs seem like they are reading our thread- Thanks, D23!

The most important thing to me is that we are allowed only one time in the reservation system, so need to make all choices in one sitting.

But it did sound like once you chose the panel/time, that would hold your spot.

Is that the impression others got?

That something will not 'sell out' while it's sitting in your cart if you take your time choosing other things?

Yes I read it the same - it holds your selections until you are finished. And no time limit to complete however they do caution that a long period of inactivity might result in being logged out of the session.

Yep, that's how I understood number 6:

"When making reservations, once you click on a specific time for your desired reservation and click the “Yes” button on the confirmation pop-up, that slot is held for you until you either select another time slot or click the “I’m Done” button at the bottom of the page."

Now whether it actually works that way and doesn't glitch/freeze and lose all your pending reservations is the big question. I am stressing out already.

I'm still VERY frustrated that there are THREE of us in my party - and apparently I can only make reservations for 2 at a time. I guess I will try to have two windows open with separate badge numbers , but holy cow - how is this going to work if we get TWO reservations for a panel instead of THREE. Glad everyone warned me about how frustrating D23 is, because I am already super-annoyed about this.

I just wrote D23 guest relations to see what they say about this.

Same here (but Saturday and Sunday). I'm worried about this.

I took screenshots of the video, when they had the reservation windows open.

In one of them, it says 'children under the age of 14 are unable to make advanced online reservations, a valid and activated adult D23 expo badge is required to make and check in for a reservation.'

So if you get ahold of a D23 employee, ask them about this.

I know it says not to log on different browsers or computers with the same badge but if we have multiple single day badges under the same email (I have Fri, Sat, and Sun single badges as the 3 day was sold out) do you think we can open 3 different browser tabs and log in with each badge?

From the Reservations FAQs -

I’m coming to D23 Expo with more than one Guest. Can we make reservations for our entire party together?
Advance online reservations allow you to make reservations for you and one other D23 Expo Guest only. If you do not receive your desired reservation(s), there will be standby queues at StorePass and StagePass locations, as well as at Talent Central.

For D23 Gold Member Priority Queues, D23 Gold Members may bring one (1) Expo guest, and D23 Gold Family Members may bring up to three (3) Expo guests. Note, capacity for the Gold Member Priority queue is limited.

My friend is taking her 2 boys (vets of every D23 and they also go to CC in SD each year). One son is under 14 so she must take HIM in as her one guest. The other boy is older but has some cognitive delays. She must try to get reservations under herself and him at matching events. It is tough. I was one who accidentally made the reservations under one email address so I can only make reservations under one badge I think, not sure, oh well.

It’s a delicate balance - trying to identify people like your friend and @sliwe_pete who truly need three or four reservations, vs trying to keep some unrelated groups from attempting to snag all of the top reservations & blocking others out. They may have to re-examine this process for next Expo, after guest feedback plus there are always learnings the first time through....

I "confirmed" when I called Disney Movie Rewards about my D23 celebration redemption that park admission is included. I put confirmed in quotes, because know about trusting what CMs say
I was also very lucky to get a reservation, but based on the description on the site and the price point, I have a feeling that even though admission to the park is included, you aren't going to be permitted to go wander around. I have a feeling we'll be corralled in one of the venues in Hollywood Land before being escorted to Fantasmic! But still excited this event is offered (and AP's might be given more leniency, hopefully).

I activated my badge but never got a confirmation email. is there a way to check if your badge is actually activated?

Same here (but Saturday and Sunday). I'm worried about this.
I'm a little nervous about this too, but it was super easy to activate all 3 in one go. I would assume (in a world where everything works perfectly and is set up in a logical way) that the system would see that your email had three badges associated, but who knows. I am totally anxious about this whole process. It seems like a good idea, but also flawed. I guess we'll have to wait and see.

I still haven't received my badges! I have one for Saturday and one for Sunday. I keep hoping they will arrive, but that hope is rapidly dwindling. I was able to look up my badge numbers and activate them with no problems.

Lucky! Mine has not arrived yet and when I try to look up my badge number, the confirmation number and e-mail address aren't recognized. Email sent and using all the social media ways to contact them. I'm not worried about having the badge before I leave next Thursday...I do need my badge number to make reservations tomorrow, though.
