New D23 Expo Superthread! (6/24/2019)

I'm a little nervous about this too, but it was super easy to activate all 3 in one go. I would assume (in a world where everything works perfectly and is set up in a logical way) that the system would see that your email had three badges associated, but who knows. I am totally anxious about this whole process. It seems like a good idea, but also flawed. I guess we'll have to wait and see.
I’m not so sure about that presumption re the system knowing multiple badges for a single person - the Top 10 tips has this - it says we will log in using badge number, so it feels as if each badge will require a separate reservation process.

2. Have your badge number and email ready
To make Advance Online Reservations, you will need to log in using the activated badge number and the email address you provided to activate your badge.

Hence the comment about assuming that in a perfect and logical world that's how I imagine it working. I know to expect it won't be that way. It would be nice though...

I think this is the reason we are all so nervous. We KNOW that Disney botches these things 90% of the time, and even if not for everyone than at least for some. We don't want to be on the "Botched" list.

I hope they will shed more light on how they will handle people with StagePass for those 10 AM panels like will they be allowed entry to the convention center before 9 AM to line up for their panel.

This is in the FAQ:
I have a reservation for a Hall D23 session that starts at 10 a.m. Since doors open at 9 a.m., how do I make sure that I can get into the Anaheim Convention Center and in line to arrive at least one hour prior to the start of the session?
The check in for Hall D23 StagePass is in Hall E. Arrive at Hall E at least one (1) hour prior to the start of the session. Allow ample time for parking and security screening to get to Hall E. Select security screening points will be available 24 hours a day starting at 2 p.m. on Thursday, August 22. When you enter the event, let staff know that you have a StagePass for Hall D23. You will be directed to Hall E to queue.

There are a few that start at 10 in the Arena, but that venue says to arrive 30 minutes before.

If I am able to get reservations for the AM Hall D23 panels, I think I will still try to head over by 5 am, at least the first day to get an idea of setup. If I thought that there might still be openings for Gold Members at that time, I probably would not even worry about reservations for them and just go with the Gold Member line.

Thank you!

@skier_pete Could someone else book one of your group? I am solo. I can't tell though how I would link someone else's badge to my stuff if the badge was already linked. Which panels are you trying to get? I can't really tell if you can book just one thing for another person or if everything has to be the same.

I was also very lucky to get a reservation, but based on the description on the site and the price point, I have a feeling that even though admission to the park is included, you aren't going to be permitted to go wander around. I have a feeling we'll be corralled in one of the venues in Hollywood Land before being escorted to Fantasmic! But still excited this event is offered (and AP's might be given more leniency, hopefully).

I didn't figure they would allow us to do any attractions. I only bought a 3 day park hopper and plan to use it Wednesday, Thursday, and Monday. I hadn't planned on going to the parks after a long, tiring day at the Expo anyway. I wanted to know if I was going to need to add an additional day when I arrive, just for this evening event.

You can reserve for yourself and then add a guest to your reservation (maximum of two people, including yourself). You do not need their badge number or their name (based off their FAQ and YouTube video). The guest can then make a reservation for themselves and you for another event if they so choose.

The only thing you will have to do when making reservations is have two separate browsers/computers open at the same time if your group is 3 or bigger. (If you have a giant group you’ll have a nightmare on your hands trying to reserve a stagepass, talentpass, storepass for every day and every person in your group.)

I need to re-listen to the YouTube video. I was "watching/listening" last night while watching Us for upcoming Halloween Horror Nights. Then I was trying to watch it at work without the audio. Your info helps. Thanks

So for reservations for my friend and I... we both have 3 separate badges each for Friday, Saturday and Sunday. All our badges are activated but my 3 are connected to my email and his 3 aren’t connected to his own email.

When making reservations... will it be enough for ONLY me to make the reservations using my badge and email, which will also included one guest (my friend)? Alternatively, couldn’t he then with his own badges make his own set of reservations for other panels and include me as his guest??

Just wanna make sure I understand this correctly.

Yes, that follows my understanding of the guest policy, and is the strategy I intend to employ with my DH tomorrow.

Correct. You two can go to four panels and two stores per day as long as you select a guest will accompany you to each experience. No limit as per the FAQ.

Random question here if someone could help me. I'm interested in seeing the heroes and villains costume archives and I'm unsure how that works. I know that there is a panel for it but I'm guessing there a place just for the costumes. I dont see anything on the app to indicate you can reserve to see it or when it's open. So do you just line up at any time then?

If it’s like past years for the Walt Disney Archives exhibit, it’ll pretty much just be free flow in, free flow out... if there’s a line, there’s a line. I could be wrong but it’s my theory based on what I’ve seen.
