If I ever screw up, --PM me or make a post here so you don't have to bother Corinna :goodvibes :thumbsup2 .

Ditto for me

I only whine to Corinna when I don't get an envie which in the not so recent past was often. Corinna and I were communicating quite frequently when that was going on and all I could think about is it is a non-paying job for her and she sure has to spend a lot of time ruling with her iron fist.pirate:

Big Thank You Corinna:flower3:

I try to pay as close attention to the expiration dates as possible, but a few may have snuck their way into the envie. So, if you have ever received a few expired coupons from me, I am so sorry. It wasnt intentional, and if I did, please let me know, otherwise I would have no idea.

As far as postage goes, i feel like my method works, but if any of my receivers have had to pay postage, I would feel awful!! and be very embaressed!!

In either of these situations, please let ME know, so I can pay better attenion!:thumbsup2 Thanks!

Ok Ladies,

In my zeal to get coupon happy, I was out my mailbox bright and early this morning. I was clipping and cutting, sorting and organizing. I decided before I would make my shopping lists I would cook the gang some breakfast. Now trying to be diligent and multi-task while cooking the bacon, I thought I would take a a gander at the cupboards, see where they were bare and what I need for this weeks shopping expedition. Looking, quickly turned to straightening, as the syrup totally grossed me out (how do the young-ins do it?:confused3 ). Now as the bacon went from crisp to burned beyond recognition, I have tallied the following:

7 boxes of Suddenly Salad (all Original)
5 boxes of Onion Soup Mix
6 pks of Rice-a-Roni Mexican flavor (I like it but 6??)
and various and other sundry items, too many of each and too many to throw out and waste.

Now, except for the obligatory postage, I think a cabinet train would have been a great idea. I am sure I could someone would have enjoyed some Suddenly Salad somewhere. But since the USPS would surely not cooperate I am planning what I am calling my "Kitchen Commando Mission". My mission (feel free to copy me, this is going to be a good one) is to use up the things in my cabinets, that are multiples and not staples. So if I have two bags of Sugar, fine; but there is going to be a fire sale on Suddenly Salad here at the Lucas'.

and now to the reason I am posting...Other than the recipe on the box, have any of you glamorized this with additional ingredients? I have a lot to use and would welcome ANY suggestions....

Thanks!:goodvibes

I have never used the stuff but whenever we do a pantry clean-up the extras go to the food pantry. There are so many people right now that just aren't making it and I'm not talking the "generational" folks. I'm talking working moms, etc. If you decide dressing it up isn't worth the bother, consider finding a pantry in your area. They will really appreciate it as their needs are up and their supply train has stayed stagnant.

Okay wait ~~~~adjusting flame suit just in case~~~~

Alright so I'm one of the "New Kids on the Block" here on the train so I'm betting this has happened before but I just have to put my piece out there. I have had two people sending me coupons since I jumped on the train and a special pressie for my birthday from another train rider. I have absolutely gotten some expired coupons and so what????? My current sender sends me the MOST amazing envelopes every week. I am seriously embarassed by her graciousness (:hug: Jen) and I cannot imagine pointing out to her or bothering Corinna with the fact that maybe a few of her coupons were out of date or any from my previous sender. You are NOT paying postage to receive these, you can easily throw them away, or you can forward them to a military family who can still use them so what is the beef?

I am so greatful that Corinna is doing this for us that I really don't see where she needs to be bothered with hearing that someone got a few dead coupons especially to the point where she needs to take time out of her personal life to send us messages about it! Life goes on and more than likely we'll make the same mistake at some point so....laugh and let it go! :rotfl:

Just my humble point of view.

~~~~slipping out of suit and off of soapbox~~~~
I think must don't complain unless receiving expired coupons becomes a regular thing and they are receiving lots of them. And then I can see that being annoying...it's hard to pass coupons on down the train if you only get expired ones. But I do agree contacting your sender would be easier and would lighten Corinna's load.
Corinna, THANKS for the great job you do of keeping us going! You have a lot more patience than I do ;) :hug:
I have a question for you guys? Would you like it if I put a little "wish-list" on the first page of the thread? If you are looking for a specific item that you use a lot of I could list that item on the first page, and the person who is requesting those coupons, then you could message me if you have those coupons and willing to send them on, I'll then give you the address for that person.
For example I could put:
Boost-Shaymaraysmom
Depends-Englishrose47
Prego Sauce-vegasnative
What do you think? You could message me with your wishlist items and I can add/remove it from the list as you choose. Someone mentioned to me that it can be hard to search for the items as the thread is lengthy and it does seem to move fast at times.
Good idea or don't bother?
Does anyone else live in a state where you can't buy dishwasher detergent right now?
Good grief. I'm all for going "green", but when I can't even buy dishwasher detergent anymore, it's a little frustrating!! I went to the store the other day and there is no dishwasher detergent. The only kind that is sold in Washington state right now is the Palmolive Eco Friendly liquid stuff. No, Electrosol, no Cascade either powder or liquid, nothing!
I guess the only stuff that doesn't contain phosphate in it is the Palmolive Eco Friendly liquid. I have not tried it yet, but obviously I will be soon. It is now against the law in WA state to sell dish detergent with phosphates in them because it pollutes the water.
I looked it up on the Internet and apparantly it will be a nationwide thing by the year 2010. Until Cascade or others come out with new non phosphate product it won't be sold here in Washington.
I boil chicken with onion, garlic salt and pepper. I toss it into the rice after both are cooked. You could also make a mexi-bowl. Start with refried beans on the bottom (I use Rosarita), then the rice, cubed chicken, shredded cheese and top with sour cream!!! My family loves it!! Not glamorous, but EASY!!:banana: :yay: :cool1:
I think that's a GREAT idea! I know I can always use Herbal Essence coupons!! We might want to limit it though, because I dont think we want people putting their whole grocery list on there. But we could change products every now and then.
Corinna, my pocketbook, DFamily and I THANK YOU!!!!:grouphug:
You know that hadn't even occurred to me...I was just steadfast that I wasn't going to throw it out and "waste" it. This solves both my problems, I don't have to eat a month of Suddenly Salad and I am not wasting it. I knew you guys would get me on the right "track", pardon the pun.
I remember reading an article not too long ago about the funds for non-profits like that quickly evaporating in this economy.
Thanks!
I think it would be a good idea, especially for someone new. I could the print it and keep it my list to make it little easier to remember what to hold out/pass on.
Easy is the main ingredient in all my recipes and if it tastes good and is healthy; that's a bonus! Thanks for the great suggestion.
:thumbsup2 Glad to hear it. We often forget about those places when it isn't the holidays or something.
