For those of you who haven't already been tagged on this article a million times by your Facebook friends, here's all the information Disney's Fairy Tale Weddings has released so far about their new, closer-to-the-castle ceremony location inside Magic Kingdom.

  • Name: East Plaza Garden
  • Capacity: 100 guests
  • Ceremony Time: 9:30 am (i.e., while the park is open to day guests)
  • Ceremony Fee: $25,000. Includes venue fee, upgraded chairs, sound system, greenery package (for blocking views; this is not a floral and decor package), a string trio and Main Street vehicles to transport your wedding party.
  • Food & Beverage Minimum: $15,000 + 23% service charge and 6.5% tax. Reception is not held inside Magic Kingdom.
  • Enhancement Minimum: $35,000 + 23% service charge and 6.5% tax on certain elements. This can be met by any wedding-day service you pay Disney for, including floral, decor, photography, videography and entertainment.
  • Outside vendors are prohibited. Photography and videography must be provided by Disney Fine Art Photo & Video.
  • Deposit: $10,000 (instead of the $4,000 deposit normally required for Wishes Collection events).
Pricing details are here.

Note that Disney has also raised the price of the Magic Kingdom Train Station ceremony location. That venue's Ceremony Fee is now $15,000, with a $10,000 Food & Beverage Minimum and a $15,000 Enhancement Minimum. Like the East Plaza Garden, this location requires a $10,000 deposit to book. However, Train Station ceremonies still take place before the park opens to most day guests.

Here are Disney's official photos of the East Plaza Garden...

So since it is at 9:30 am does that mean the MK will be open to day guests during your ceremony? I would love this but not if the park is still open. I'd rather pay to have an earlier morning ceremony before park opening.

Correct. Disney's event guides are not gonna let them, like, walk right through your ceremony, but day guests will be there in the background of your photos. The MK Train Station ceremony is usually pretty private, but you do get some early-ADR guests walking below you toward the end of the event. Epcot weddings are ideal because World Showcase is closed at the time ceremonies are held.

that high, but not even held in the park. Absurd.

My daughter sent me this earlier, it looks amazing....while the park is empty, not so much with 6,000 people standing there watching along with all the noise of a theme park's daily activities.

Oh wow, during park hours - that is honestly the most surprising part of all of this to me!! I wonder if they were having a hard time selling the train station with the required ceremony start time plus the fee - at least this is a little easier to sell to folks. Still, I can't imagine how you could ride up in Cinderella's coach with 3,000 guests stampeding onto Mine Train and Peter Pan around you. Still, for those couples who want the castle or bust, glad they have an option now!

Those light poles :scared: I wonder if the coach is included or not. It mentions the Main Street vehicles for guests. At least this castle event is significantly less expensive than any in park Disneyland event.

No coach, just the fire truck, omnibus, etc for transporting guests. But you gotta spend that $35,000 enhancement minimum on something, right...? :teeth:

I actually find this an interesting option but wonder what happens in case of inclement weather on the wedding day?

You get married somewhere else (where you probably won't even be able to see the castle) and are sad

Sure! Though until I can interview someone who's actually had one of these, it'll be pretty short!

I can't unsee the light posts now! While I love the Wedding Pavilion I'd be really upset if it rained. They should really give you the option to reschedule for that amount of money.

The rain backup location for this venue is the Wedding Pavilion.
HAHA...I'd rather pay much much less and have my lovely intimate...random screaming tourist free location....The Wedding Pavilion....from the beginning....

Honestly this location AND that it's open when there's NOISY NOISY guests there high on pop tarts and sugary breakfast excited to be there on what might be their first day....no THANK you....

It's not the price that deters me as much as the time....and those light poles....
