New AP Rates Are Out

:cool1:

Just swiched from POFQ to AKL with a great AP rate!!! The CM was incredibly nice and helpful but did push the DDP a bit too much until I told her that we tried the DDP last October and found that it just wasn't for us. Should have mentioned that the first time she asked, lol.

Didn't have the code in hand so I just asked to see if there were any AP or FL resident discounts that could be applied to our existing ressie.

Woohoo!!

Hi everyone!

To those who asked about the AP discount at the Polynesian this morning, here are the facts:

I told the CM that I was calling about the Polynesian concierge, lagoon AND garden views, for the dates of May 18 and checking out on May 22 (I knew that the night of the 22nd was not included in the AP discount dates, so I left off the last night of our trip).

She looked it up for me (first she asked if I was interested in adding the DDP and I told her that I was not interested at this time, that I wanted a room only rate), and she told me that a lagoon concierge room was discounted at the rate I typed on Page 1 (Sorry but I'm on break at work right now, and I have it all written down at my desk at home. LOL), but that there was NO discount for garden view concierge.

Now I'm really nervous and hoping that my Travel Agent was able to get through this morning and get this discount for us, when I could've easily booked it while I had the CM on the phone this morning. :confused3

Oh well, I will report back later tonight when I hear back from my Travel Agent. Hopefully with some good news! LOL :)

It would be nice to know the dollar amount off for the rooms so we can do the math ourselves.

Seems as if there are a LOT of conflicting reports.

I think the AP rate varies from resort to resort. I'll tell you what I was quoted this morning.

POFQ - $129/night Sunday - Thurs. & $139/night Fri. & Sat.
WL - $244/night all week
AKL - $164/night all week

Good luck.

We have POR -(2-rooms) April 15-April 30 for $145.12 per night for each room which includes tax.

We had to break up our 2 reservations into 4 reservations in order to take advantage of the AP rate. They do not give AP rates for more than 14 nights.

The savings was only marginally better than the AAA rate, but we won;t complain. It is better than no savings!

:thumbsup2

There also HAS to be some sort of discount on the dining portion of the package too.

I got a quote for adding the dining for our party of 7 (but one child wouldn't be on it due to his age (2)

4 Disney adults 38 = $152
2 Disney children 10 = $20
Total daily: $172 (without taxes)

Quote given $2901 for 8 nights including dining
Quote without dining $1742.

So only an additional $1159 for 8 days of dining? I just don't get where that adds up or is discounted. Would I get the kids for free - if so the discount is larger than that anyways. It seems as though the dining portion was discounted about 15% off of the rates.

Where am I going wrong?

What resort do you have, and what are your dates? Maybe we can help you figure it out.

If the DDP was discounted, that would be a whole different story.

I was originally booked 5/15-19 at Pop Century, 2 adults, 2 base tickets and the dining plan for $1077.58. I called today and asked for room only, with the dining plan and AP rate. Only ASMu was available for the AP rates, but the new total of $663.30 made me snatch it right up! I'm only sleeping there, right?

Does anyone know what the rates are for Beach Club or Boardwalk for a standard room?? The rate that was quoted ($164/all week) for AKL - I am assuming that is for a standard?

I'm on with a CM but she is making me very nervous.

My original reservation is room-only and I booked it online. She is making an entire new reservation and now has put me on hold to get guest services before she can tell me if there is a discount or not even. Is this normal?

Does anyone know if there are still AP room only rooms available at the POR?
And what the savings would be? Im going April 25th for 14 nights.

I havent heard from my Dreams Unlimited Rep and am hoping she was able to get through ok and get me the cheaper rates! Keeping fingers crossed!

My dates are 4/24-4/29 & I asked for POR & the CM said no discount available for that time period.

I have reservations at pop 5/16-5/18 and I tried to change to the AP rate and they said not avail.

I also booked a trip 4/7-4/10 Ap rate was avail at allstar sports and music and not avail at any moderates.

I just called and had my ressie modified for the AP rates

Staying at Pop Century May 14-22 (9 nights)
Rate was $79 a night including weekends

Since the code ends on the 21 have to pay $109 for the 22nd.

Original ressie was $1,036.08 new one is $833.62 savings of $202.46!!!

The prices seem to be all over the board this morning, depending on who you talk to. I was just priced the AS Sports standard room for seven nights May 3rd-11th for room only at $630.54 and with dining for $941.97. I asked twice if she was sure she hadn't included insurance and she assured me she had not. However, that means I would be paying $311.43 for the basic dining plan for one person or $44.49/day?

I was also quoted room only rates for AS Movies preferred for $702.86, PORS standard $1038.36, and AKL standard $1291.50.

I just looked at the discounts from last year and they seem to be about the same this year. Last year they were:
'check-ins April 15-June 2
Value Resorts from $74+
Moderate Resorts from $129
$101 off Deluxe Resorts per night'

Just got off phone w/Disney reservations. Switched my BCV reservation to Beach Club Resort. Went from $314/night at BCV studio to $278/night at BC.

She thought mononrail resorts were excluded (Poly, etc).

Asked about DDP and she said you can only add DDP for new reservations (need to cancel and rebook whatever you already have) and can only add DDP where you have an AP rate. So for my split stay at BC/Poly, I can only add DDP for the BC portion of trip. This doesn't make a lot of sense, and is first day of new policy, so am thinking maybe she was confused? Given the DDP changes in 2008, I am going to go with the DDE.

See now I know there is something weird. Mary has it listed for 84 a night for std room at value on weekends. Yet I am getting quoted 94. I keep asking if this is for preferred and they are saying no, it is for standard. If all they have is preferred then that is fine.

I just thought it was weird for my weekend rate for a std room to be $20 higher than a week night. $94 is better than my $103 I was paying with AAA, but still.

Well after being all nervous everything worked out but just the opposite of our original plans.

Orig Plans: April 4th - 6th Poly; Cruise; April 10th - 12th CR MK View
AP Discount Plans: April 4th - 6th CR MK View; Cruise; April 10th - 12th Poly

I was quoted $259/night std. for BC. (Would assume the rate is the same for a std. view at BWI.) Other views were not available, so can't help you there.

$164/night for AKL is for the standard view. I was also quoted $174/night for pool view. Savannah view was not available for my dates.

Yes, that $164/week at AKL was for a Standard room. I'm not picky on my view, just on my resorts. :)

Someone explain this one to me please? I just posted that it seemed like the prices are all over the board this morning depending on who you talk to. About 30 minutes ago I was quoted $630.54 for a standard room at AS Sports for seven nights May 3rd-10th. When I asked about dining the price for the same standard room at AS Sports went up to $941.97. So I was going to be charged $311.93 for the basic dining plan or $44.49/day? I asked the CM twice if maybe she had included trip insurance and she assured me she had not. I told her I would think about it and call back.

I just called and spoke to a very nice CM and again requested a price for a standard room at AS Sports and she quoted me $607.94 for the same seven nights May 3rd-10th. When I asked her about the DDP she quoted me a total of $873.87, so the DDP went down to $265.93 or $37.99/day.

With the second CM the room went down $22.60 and the DDP went down $45.50. What's up with the two different prices? Doesn't their computer just shoot out the price when the dates are entered? if so the prices should have been the same from both CMs.
