New Animal Kingdom attraction?

Can anyone tell me if the new Matterhorn-style ride is open at Animal Kingdom yet (I think it might be called Mt. Everest?) and if so, what is the ride like? Is it a roller coast like the Matterhorn, or a little slower...
Any details or news?
