Hi gang, we're back.
Will have to do a trip report when I get caught up with things but we had a wonderful time!!! Weather ended up being great, crowds were low. and WL was fantastic!!!

Fred,
About conceirage... they don't put all the drinks out but you can ask for them anytime (this includes bottle water, soft drinks, and beer, and I even think I saw them hand out chocolate milk)
We loved our room. It was at the end of the hall next to the Presidential Suite. they gave us a tour, it sure was nice.:D Our room overlooked the lake and pool. We were able to see and hear the electrical parade from our room. With only a couple of fireworks at MK we enjoyed the bay view vs the MK view. The staff were wonderful and very helpful. Transportation was a little slow to Downtown Disney and Animal Kingdom b/c they combine those with the water parks, add that to the commute to Fort Wilderness and it seems to take forever to get where you are going. If we had our car we would have driven to these two places. This is a transportation problem not a WL problem. When we took a bus from Downtown Disny to Contemporary it also stopped at water park, Polynesian, Grand Floridian and the Contemporary. All buses go to at least two hotels except all-stars and caribbean but they have enough stops to make up for it.

Loved Mission space, didn't get sick at all. Rode it twice in a row!!
Took bomine the first day and didn't have any problems. Rode it again later in the week without the medicine and still didn't have any trouble. Great ride. They are having some tech troubles with the joy sticks so if yours doesn't work, report it and make sure you ride it again this really adds to the effect of the ride.

I did get a dizzy headache after cyber mountain at DD this time, I didn't have any problems last time. This time I did go with a 5 fright factor. If any of you haven't tried this, it is great!!

Le Cellier might be our new favorite restaurant. We went their twice.
Well got to run but will give more later!!!

oh, we went and toured the AKL and saw really great animals. I will send the pictures to Fred. I liked the Lodge it reminded me alittle of WL but the music is so different. I think it would get on my nerves after a while compared to the WL music which is soothing or upbeat. It is a long way from everything, too.

Beechparty -

Thanks for the update. Can't wait to read the whole trip report - we're now under 2 weeks!!

Mary

Welcome back Beechparty. Hope you had a good time. Sounds like you did! Can't wait to read the trip report!! May have to wait till I get back though. :)

I should have taken TODAY off! We aren't ready! Still feel like we have TONS of stuff to do and NO time to do it!!

Ratpack (Tim's) pics were worth getting up as I hav eyet to see some night shots like those as well. I hope it perks everyone up a bit.

Not sure if I will get time later to post as well but if I don't, you can be SURE that I will try to do my trip reports in real time from the lodge.

Thanks to E-V-E-R-Y-O-N-E for all of the well wishes and pixie dust. We hope to have a great time.

All of the ingredients are set for my top secret mission at the lodge. If all goes well, you will hear about it soon...Muwahahahaha!

Lastly, remember everyone, "Life goes by pretty fast....if you don't stop once in a while to look around, you may miss it." (From Ferris Bueller's Day Off)

Carpe Diem. (Sieze the day!) Make every day the best you can.

WE'RE GOING TO DISNEYWORLD!

Fred

Fred,

Take a look when you are entering the lodge, right before you get through the welcome arch, look to your right. When we were there last month, they were starting a new topiary. It is a moose. I am not sure if that is where it will stay, but it is the clearing right before the arch. We were hoping there will be a moose family.

More pixie dust to you. Relax, everything will get done. Think of us.:D

Learning: What question should we ask WS CMs?

I have been trying to figure out how to get the most out of the World Showcase for my two DS 6 and 7.

I thought maybe we could ask a CM in each country (i.e. at the Kidcot stations) a question - the same question for each country - to compare the differences. Anyone have any GREAT ideas for a question that would have different and terrific responses from each of the countries?

Favorite food, holiday, ...

Thanks for your help!
That's an easy one, being that I happen to be a World Language teacher! You could ask: How the Christmas season is celebrated in each country. With the exception of Japan and China, all the World Showcase countries celebrate the Christmas season, but they all have their own special activities. Also, Santa Claus has a different name all over the world!
Other questions might include:
What is your countries national animal?
How long is the school year?
What is the country's Anthem? Maybe you can ask a CM to sing it!

To all those going soon to WL. Be sure to eat at Whispering Canyon Cafe ( an oxymoron). Also, why not ask for a "large" glass of water:D

Finally, finally, finally I was able to get onto the board and stay on. It’s been weeks since I’ve been able to post (mostly due to work problems, computer problems, DS school starting, and generally over extenuating my time with volunteering) . I’ve been so busy I haven’t even started to think about packing and we leave in 7 days. I spent most of the morning catching up on this thread (Thanks Fred). Wow – a lot has happened. So much that I can’t even begin to comment. I see that I’m too late to wish Corky and Fred a wonderful vacation. I’m hoping to catch up with Fred next week when we get there.

One question - I read that someone received a WL welcome brochure in the mail. Does anyone know if that is something that everyone gets?

DOING THE HAPPY 7 DAY DANCE (kinda missed the single digit dance a few days ago)

Thanks to everyone for all the great trip reports, pictures, and general info. This thread is the greatest due to so many friendly and helpful people.

Pixie Dust to all and wishing everyone a great day

Hi - Thanks to so much great input about the WL, I've changed our ress. from POR to WL to suprise my DH for our anniversary at the end of Oct / beginning of Nov. We've never stayed there (only been there to eat one time) and we'll have a woods view room. What type of requests should I make for a great stay there? This is a "big deal" trip for us - not only will we be celebrating our anniversary, but my DH just completed his college degree after 14 years And fortunatley it was one week before our 2nd child was born So we have a lot to celebrate! I'm looking for any great suggestions to make the most out of our stay at the WL - Thanks

Well...here we are. Julia is fast asleep but mommy and daddy are soo excited we can't get to sleep. 30 minutes in the hot tub seems to have done the trick.

Driver is coming at 5:15am to pick us up. We should be at the airport by 7am. Plain departs 9am and arrives MCO around 11:45am. We should be arriving at WL by 1pm I would suspect.

I think what I am amazed by is I got so used to seeing everyone else go that I just can't believe we are going tomorrow (today).

Anyway, next post will be from the lodge!! Cyas!  :earsboy: :earsgirl: :earsgirl:

Have a great time Corky and Majestic!!! Wish it was me, I sure do miss it. And you will Love concierge!!!!

Bumping this thread to get it back to the 1st page.

Only 8 more days for us. I can hardly believe it.

I can't wait to read Fred's reports from the Lodge.

loubelou

Are you planning on meeting up with Fred when you get to WL?

I doubt it.

Our plane arrives fairly late in the evening on the 20th and we have an early park morning planned on the 21st. I knew if I planned to meet up with someone as soon as we arrived that my DH would not be happy about me scheduling our intinerary around a meeting. If I happen to run into him, great! I'll definitely be on the look out for him during our first evening and first morning there.

Are you planning to meet up with him?

We wil be ships passing in the night. We get in late the 19th and hit the parks on the21st. Spending 20th at the pool, i'll have my green Mickey on, stop and say hi!
