Just wanted to let you all know that I heard back from Tara at Wilderness Lodge Itenerary Planning
regarding local Internet dialup numbers to the Lodge. (By the way, she verified that there is no wireless access in The Lodge at this time and no plans for it in the near future.)
I sent her two numbers to check for me. One for Orlando and one for Kissimmee. She replied at first saying that
the Kissimmee number was local but then I advised her I was told it wasn't. I asked her to please make sure it was in fact local. She replied and said that she was sorry for the confusion and that Kissimmee is in fact NOT local but the Orlando number was.
This means that the call would cost .75 cents per call with no additional charges. Not too bad!! I figure I will connect once a day to say hi to everyone at night and maybe give you some real time access to some photos or trip reports.
For anyone that wants to, I signed up with a company called MyFreeI. (As in My Free Eye) They provide dialup internet access accross the nation for F-R-E-E up to 10 hours a month. Anything over that gets billed at $1 per additional hour. Can you complain? Nope! Also, no banner ads or software to download. It uses Internet Explorer and your normal Windows dialler.
The MyFreeI Orlando number that I had Tara check for me was 407-641-4014. Again, she said this was a local call and she works there. When you are at the hotel I would HIGHLY recommend that you contact the operator and verify it is a local call prior to you connecting!!! I am not responsible for any charges that may be incurred due to your use of this information. As in, IT AINT MY FAULT IF YOU DON'T DOUBLE CHECK!
