He tries to post when he has a free moment or two; hey, I'D rather be on T-o-T or R'N'R Coaster instead of at my laptop, pecking away, so if he doesn't "pop in", it's certainly understandable! Faxed my room request tonight:

We are getting so excited for our first stay at the Wilderness Lodge, starting on Tuesday! I’m hoping that you can accommodate a few room requests.

We have a standard view and would really prefer non-smoking. My boys both move around so much when they sleep, they might have difficulty sleeping together in a queen bed, so I would like to request bunk beds for them.

I also think it would be wonderful to be in a lobby-area room, to be just steps away from what I hear is the grandest lobby in all of DisneyWorld!

My 3 boys (DH and DSs) are off to a baseball game and the races at Dover for the weekend, so I can pack and prepare in peace. Started substitute teaching this week, too, which sort of got me off track a little. But I do have the green mickey ears and ribbon ready to go!!!

Right now I am scheduled to check in at the WL at 10pm or later. Im afraid that on a fri night at the time i'll only get the room no one else wanted. I can switch my travel plans to get there at 730. Would that be better.

I wouldn't worry too much because it is a slower season right now. If you are really concerned, then fax in a request!

Ahhh....someone once said that all good things must come to an end. We have come to the end of our vacation and are very sad to have to leave tomorrow. Tonight I ran into another dis'r that recognized me and promised that she would post here on the thread. (shanev and ariel1974) Took my picture with them. Also saw the FloridaCat today and took my pic with him as well. Roy, you are a nice guy and it was an honor meeting you!

I shall return home with memories that I will never forget. We closed off the last day of our stay with Fantasmic as we did last year.

This will be the last post till I get home. Till then, this is Fred, Majestic, signing off from the place we all call our home, Walt Disney World's Wilderness Lodge.

Oh yeah...I have to go on my secret mission tomorrow AM before I go. You will all know soon enough what it is.

Lastly, per the Concierge, the hotel is at 100% capacity and is one of the VERY few on Disney property that is that way. Lots of people checked in today. The place is still pretty empty during the week.

Awe Fred, I feel like crying for you. I hate the feeling when we have to leave.

I always felt so sorry for the people you see waiting for their rides when we arrive at the lodge. Everyone looks so sad. Everytime we go, I always look and say, "that'll be me in 9 days"

I'm so happy you had a great vacation. I (as well as others here) are greatful that you took the time to post to the rest of the WL Family.

Can't wait to see all the wonderful pics!

OMG..!!!!!! I just noticed that I should be doing the :

SINGLE DIGIT DANCE!!!!!!!!!

(Even though today is really 10 days, my countdown clock hit 9!! )

I am soooo siked for this trip! But, I am also getting a little panicked! This is the first trip we are taking to Disney with the kids and it's the first time we are staying at a hotel for longer than just a weekend. We usually rent houses if we stay a week or so! I hope I pack enough stuff!

I guess I could always do a load of laundry during my stay? Is it easy enough?

Is the WL available with the Disney land/sea package? we would love to stay there but were told our choices were the Beach club, polynesian, or animal kingdom. We picked the polynesian.

Liv2CdWorld: My kids are : 3 yr old DD and 6 yr old DS! Their first trip to Disney!

I am so excited for them! I was thinking of calling a CM at WL to ask if they can arrange for a welcome gift for kids, is that possible?

How's the laundry area? Is it easy to get to?

Anna, they'll have a blast with the boat trip to the MK alone! My DS's are 1 yr and 4 1/2. This will be my 4yr old's 5th trip and my 1 yr old's 2nd trip! Talk about spoiled!

The laundry area is located on the north wing close to Roaring Forks. The area is clean, but it is a bit cramped for the size of the hotel. During the past trips, I as doing laundry at 11 pm or so at night. But at that time, it seems to be packed. I think this trip I'll try the early afternoon while the kids are napping.

Another tip, bring your own laundry detergent and fabric softener. You'll already be spending a small fortune on the washers and dryers

Not sure if the CM's can arrange for that, but the Disney Florist may be able to help. There's also another company I've heard about www.theperfectgift.cc and www.giftsofalifetime.com

Thanks for the info! I can't believe that the trip is nearly here! I have been counting down since 145 days! I thought it would never get here!

I think the kids will love the boat ride to MK also! We usually take a ferry every summer to Martha's Vineyard and they love that! I can only imagine what they'll be like for MK!

Re: the laundry, I bought wisk tabs and will pack a couple of softener sheets. I was thinking of doing laundry while the kids either nap or hang at the pool with their dad!

I hope the weather is ok! So, far on the 10 day forecast, it shows sunny weather, but who knows!

I will look into the gifts for the kids.

...remember to bring PLENTY of quarters! The WL dryers are NOT the best, so you will probably have to run each load 2 or 3 times. The laundry room entrance is located exactly opposite the elevators in the North Wing on the bottom floor. When you exit these elevators and make a right, that hallway leads to RF. Hope this helps..... !

HI all,
well we're finally here at the WL!! we checked in around 8:30 am, room wasn't ready but so we dropped off the luggage and headed to Tampa to watch the devil rays vs. yankees, yanks won, booooo boooooo, but the wife was happy to get a ball from one of the yankees, it was fun. Got back got our room. 7096, one of the honeymoon rooms, it's nice and the jacuzzi tub looks very nice, in fact we'll try it out in a few.
Also, those 'lil PB&J sammies are yummy.
Trip reports to come soon, time to finish my coffee with a splash of bailey's.
