Ok I don't post much but I have been reading everyone elses post for the last 4 months. We are so ready and can't belive it is almost time to go. This is our 6th trip and 3rd to stay onsite but 1st at a deluxe resort. I can't wait to stay at the lodge I am already hooked and don't know how we will stay anywhere else.

Hurray - The time has come - my last post until we get back. So far my flight is still on time leaving from Pittsburgh. Keep your fingers crossed that we can get out of here!!!

I leving on Oct 3 to spend another week at the WL.. Does anyone know if you can get turndown service in a courtyard view roomm? If so How much $ ?

Whew!!!! I know this does not belong here, but want to share with the “WL family”. I have been in contact night and day, for the past week; with my DD in Wilmington, NC getting her ready for Isabel and keeping her chin up. I just heard from her and they are in the clear and their power is back on. The flooding is not near as bad as they expected, but a lot of trees down and debris to clean up. One tree hit the side of the house, but nothing serious..

Now PD for all the DISers up that way. Ratpack, how are you doing up there?

I can now head down to WL tomorrow and be able to relax and enjoy the magic of the Lodge with my other DD.

FloridaCat thank God your daughter is ok, my dh and i said a prayer this morning that all up north are spared by Isabel.

I understand the tight schedule everyone has during their time at WL. All DIS that will be there this weekend, I will be in the pool area most of Saturday, 9/20, take a minute and say hi!!!

One is a panoramic view from our balcony. Took me 3 hours to make this one. Enjoy! It's breathtaking!

We just got back and loved it. We got it on the FTP and decided because of the savings to spurge. It's about $100 more per night if you book it somtimes less if you request at check-in and it's available.

Thoughts: If not on the FTP where 3 nights were free, I am ot sure I would do it again. I loved it but for the money I'm not sure it was worth it. Now, if money were not in the mix, I would do it every time.
We loved the staff. THey were very helpful and nice. The food was wonderful but if you are in the parks a lot you end up missing the food part. If you plan to make EE, the breakfast opens at 7:00, so that leaves very little time for breakfast if you like to drink coffee for a while before you get going. The bottled water is nice but I don't carry a backpack into the parks so it's not a huge perk. The heavy snacks are from 5-7 which is usually when we are already back in the park. The one of two nights we were back at the hotel, the hot items were game stew and something else we didn't like (I can't remember what it was). The next time it was a wonderful tomato basil soup and spring rolls. This was great! We also loved the dessert time but it ended at 10 but missed it several times b/c of not getting back in time. The turndown service was nice, you always had plenty of fresh towels without having to call for them. Again, a very nice perk but not sure worth the extra money. I loved the pampered feeling but would probably gamble for a lower cost upgrade at check-in unless it was a special occasion. This was our 20th anniversary.
If I had little ones, the snacks near the room might have been a bigger plus.

Unbelievably awesome pictures of your suite. Good for you and your family that you got that surprising upgrade.

I'm enjoying reading your trip reports. One question, how has the transportation been? It seems to be about the only complaint anyone ever has about the WL.

Thanks Beechparty. Maybe we will will wait and do this on a longer vacation. We plan to spend a lot of time in the parks so we wouldn't get to enjoy the food. (and dh is a picky eater).
