Never notified, but FD pin anyway!

So excited! We had reservations for January using the Stay, Play, & Dine promotion but I kept hoping for a Free Dining PIN. I did all the stuff everyone suggested...saved offers online, requested DVD's, etc. But I never got anything in e-mail or snail mail.

Today, I finally decided to give WDW a call, just to check. Low and behold...she said there was a FD pin assigned to my account for January 2 - March 7! That saved us another $200 on our 6-day trip. I went ahead and took the savings, but we might also consider staying another night or upgrading to a moderate (from Pop Century) and be back at the original price.

So, as much as I never believed it before, it NEVER hurts to call! I wish everyone the same luck we received...

If you upgrade to a moderate, you would probably save more, or seem like you got a better deal as you would get 1ts, 1qs and 1 snack rather than just quick service meals with the value resort.

Our original deal with SPD at Pop Century was $2243 (for 6 nights & 6 days of park tickets), including an upgrade to plus dining. With FD, that dropped to $2076 (still with upgrade to plus dining).

If we switch to a moderate (which has regular dining included with FD), the cost is back up to $2278. If we stay at POP and add a 7th night & day (still with upgraded dining), the quote was $2268.

All are pretty good deals, but since we haven't stayed at any of the resorts before, I'm leaning toward just keeping the FD savings on 6 days at POP. Since we don't have anything to compare it too, we won't know what we're missing, and can put that money towards Christmas!

So jealous! I just called again and still no PIN for us. We've also the S/P/D at Pop, but for 8 nights in Feb. It's not a huge difference, thankfully, but the FD would save us another couple hundred $$. Or, we could stay at POR for $100 more than what we're paying now. Tempting as it is, I think I'd wind up going the same route as you - sticking with Pop. Congrats on that coveted PIN!!

Congrats on the pin. Sounds like an awesome plan. I think you'll be happy at Pop for your first on property resort. Since you've already upgraded your dining, you'll have a nice little savings for Christmas. Enjoy!

I need to talk DW into calling to check to see if we have a FD pin. Our last trip was May 2011 and this is the longest we have been without going to WDW in 10 years. I really miss Disney.
