Netflix!!

Can you stream netflix from a PS3?

Yep.:thumbsup2

To watch instantly on your PS3™ system, you need to:

Connect your PS3™ system to the internet
Sign-up for or sign-in to your free PlayStation® Network account
Go to the PlayStation® Network section of the XMB then select "What's New"
Click on the Netflix icon to download and install the Netflix application

Do you have Netflix? If so go to the Instant Watch page and it lists all the devices.

We have a Roku box and a Wii. We MUCH prefer the Roku box. It is so fast and easy. The Wii is great too, but the Roku seems to appeal to us more. Seems quicker and easier for some reason.

We have been able to stream 4devices....two tv's, an iPad and touch.

Love Netflix!

Forgot to mention, with Roku there is no additional monthly fee. Once you buy the box $60, you only have to pay your Netflix membership.

Interesting. I know that dd's want the XBOXLIVE Gold account for Christmas.;)

Is what Pikestar says is correct? Do you have 2 movies at a time and that is why you can only do 2 movies maybe?

:confused3Maybe it's just a fluke being that we're still in the trial period. We could watch/stream the 2 shows. After the trial I plan to be on the 1 movie in / out at a time option.

Unless it causes too much fussing over who gets to watch and when. Because, yes, I can see that happening here. :headache:

We have unlimited one at a time, and can view on more than one at a time.
What you're saying is that Netflix is currently not enforcing its restrictions. Evidently, they're relying on voluntary compliance, similar to how police departments typically handle enforcing the traffic laws at a stop sign. Just to be clear, though, those restrictions still apply, and Netflix could put something in place tomorrow to ensure compliance, if they feel that their reliance on voluntary compliance isn't effective enough.

we were probably the last people on earth to get a dvr/tivo so I understand the feeling. glad you are enjoying it! we love netflix, and the streaming is wonderful!

We don't have dvr/tivo, OR a flat screen TV! :lmao: We do have Netflix though! Love it!:thumbsup2

I have a question: if we buy a blueray player with wifi capability.... will it stream Netflix by itself, or do we still need to buy some kind of adapter? (We have a wireless router already.)

We do the unlimited one disc at a time and we stream using two different machines. My husband will watch a movie on his laptop wherever he is and I'll watch the same movie on the tv through our HD tivo. It's considered our "date night."

I've never had any problems or felt any guilt about it. I've also streamed one movie and my husband stream a different movie. I feel that is part of the movie plan personally.

I am serious considering getting Netflix. This coming from a person does not have dvr or tivo. I have questions:

What do need to streaming through the computer. I have dsl in the house. Do have set up wireless internet. If so what do I need in terms of equipment. I have HP media center pc if that helps.

Do the Blu-ray have wifi stream netflix.

I have LCD TV what do need to screaming netflix in terms of equipment.

Thinking about getting Ipod touch soon what do need to set -up netflix.

Also may get driod tablet what need terms of netflix.

Can tell live in the cave

Some, but not necessarily all, Blu-ray Disc players that have wifi capabilities, support Netflix streaming. Each manufacturer has their own service container, and they implement the linkage to various services (Netflix, Amazon, Vudu, Facebook, etc.) as per the service providers' specs.

Guilt isn't really the issue. The question is whether folks are prepared to gracefully accept a lock-down, should Netflix choose to put something in place similar to what other service providers have, to keep customers within the terms and conditions through technology, instead of relying on voluntary compliance. I think most, but not all, people would be.

The specific player you buy will indicate if it streams NetFlix, Hulu, YouTube, etc.

We stream Netflix off out blueray player. We just finished our free trial month. We loved it so much, I just got off the phone with Time Warner. I slashed our services down to the bare bones. We now have just basic cable, no movie channels.

Time Warner had better watch themselves. They are so over-priced. Netflix and the like are going to make them take a good look at their practices.

OK, so I must have missed something here.

Netflix's FAQ states that you can have the same number of simultaneous streams as you have discs, but then you mentioned they set the cap to two instead of four (even though the FAQ says four)?

But apparently they don't actually enforce this?

I think I've broken this rule without even know it's a rule. Oops.
