Jim Hill has an article this morning about the Nemo rides in DL and FW. He is actually positive about them!!! I know, it's hard to believe.

Epcot's new "The Seas with Nemo & Friends" is not going to be some cheap, half-***ed clone of Disneyland's "Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage." If you don't believe me ... Then fine. See for yourself. I hear that all major construction on this new Future World attraction will be completed by early August. And -- with any amount of luck -- this dark ride will then start staging "soft openings" in early September. So that the ride portion of "The Seas with Nemo & Friends" will then be ready for its grand opening during the first week of October. Where this new Epcot attraction will supposedly be one of the high points of this year's WDW press event.

I'll be there in November

I am sooooo praying that it is opened when we go the first week of October!!!! :goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce:

I would say you have a good shot at that. Hill is not the only one that has mentioned that date. Certainly, you may see a soft opening phase

Where would it be located exactly?

Yeah, but exactly where in the building is the thing going?

The (closed a few years ago) sea cabs will be the location of the Nemo attraction.

As best it has been rumored, the new ride through will be in the old queue area (where they had the model of the 'Natalius'), the old waiting area (where they had the "Circlevision" slide show), the two theaters for the preshow movie ("and it rained, and rained, and rained, and..."), the Hydroaters (they shall be missed) and the lower level where the SeaCabs crawled through. It's actually a fairly large space and comparable to many Fantasyland dark rides.

Mr. Hill is once again being a little too, let's just say "fan friendly". The WDW version of the ride will consist of the show elements from Disneyland's 'Nemo Sub ride. At Disneyland these elements will be filmed animation projected so that it looks like it in the underwater sets and some mechanical effects in dry boxes. WDW will basically be the same thing but without the water (i.e., the same film effects but projected against dry set pieces).

And instead of being upset about getting a downsized version of the Disneyland ride (which WDW is), we should be more upset that neither of us is getting the 'Turtle Spin' attraction from Disneyland Paris. The ride is an indoor free-spinning mad mouse ride with a story line about riding on Crush's back through the East Austrailian Current. Buzz around the company is that it's really turning our remarkable well. Instead of being just another decorated roller coaster like 'Rock n Roller', this one includes real show scenes and plenty of great effects inside the current (the roller coaster section). And besides, I'm sure people would rather go surfing with Crush and his son than tag along as Mr. Ray describes fish.

Actually I think I prefer the fish thing. Sounds cool to me. I'm very surprised you already don't like this new attraction.

Of course I never wrote any such thing, but I’ve long grown used to the assumption that anyone with an unapproved opinion must be a vile, evil, nasty person out to rip down Disney.

The fact is I haven’t seen enough of the ride to get any sort of idea how it will turn out. It could be great, it could be rotten – I don’t know. I am extremely happy they are bringing the submarines back to Disneyland in any form. I don’t like the idea of yet another plush pushing product placement production instead of an original story.

My personal preference is always for creativity and I choose not to lower my expectations.

I disagree, I'am a little disapointed, I feel like the Living Seas is turning into a fantasyland attraction. Plus I think Epcot should stear clear of more spinning rides...

Man, they are really pushing the Finding Nemo movie. Turtle Talk with Crush, the new show in AK this year at Theatre in the Wild, and now this. It sounds good and I am sure the Imaganeers will do an outstanding job with it , but should one movie get so much attention? How about a Mary Poppins ride? :bitelip:

I never called you a vile, evil, nasty person. But you did rip the attraction before it has opened.

But I've have long grown used to the assumption that anyone who is willing to wait and give an attraction a chance instead of ripping it as unimaginative is nothing but a "pixie duster".

Please!!!

Some of us are reading to find out news and info, not to listen to people being sarcastic. It's a real turn-off.

I welcome EVERYONE'S opinions but, please, let's play nice in the sandbox!

That gets an Amen! Pixie Dusters Unite!!!!

Of course I didn't "rip" the ride. There's nothing like that in the post. You also completely ignored all the good things I said about the Paris 'Turtle' ride. But that's okay. It's your job to discredit anyone with a different opinion. I understand; it's all part of the game.

In the end the public - the real public - will decide.
