I'm trying to find the article and I can't...it does not take into account different spellings, and IIRC they were Ann, Elizabeth, Nicole, Jo, Grace, and either Kay or Rose (or maybe both and it was 7?).

Name Nerds has a good article on middle names. I find it interesting that boys are usually given family names as middle names, but girls are usually given "filler" names. My middle name is Eileen, and I gave my daughter an interesting middle name too - Theta.

My middle name is Elizabeth, same as my mom, so there was a lot of push in the family for DD's middle name to be Elizabeth, but our last name is 4 syllables so I didn't want to go with a long middle name, especially since her first name is long, at least in number of letters, when actually spoken it's 2 syllables. We chose Paige for a middle name, wanted something with only 1 syllable. We considered Grace and Rose, but it did seem to me that I had heard of a lot of babies with those middle names lately, now I know why!

#1 Marie
#2 Rose
#3 Elizabeth
#4 Anne
#5 Lynn
#6 Grace
#7 Anna
#8 Nicole
#9 May
#10 Christine

Yep, all of my middle names are there! However, I am not a fan of trendy or made up names, and all of the middle names represented family members, and did my boys' names (first and middle).

But they have discounted 100's of perfectly good names...none of which are goofy or a detriment of any kind.

I really like the names Kadalyn Alexia (kade-uh-lyn) and Avery Jayde. You can put either of those first names with the middle name of your choosing. A few other names I recommend are Emilee,Jayden,Karlea,Madilyn,Raleighn,Kourtlea,McKenna,Alexandra,Faith,Alexia (lexi), McKynlea,Brenna,Akiera,Grace,Lydia,Senecca,Natalea,Brooke,Makaila,Maddie,Peyton,Destiny,Payson, and Peytlea.

For boys I like Masen Gage and Carter Alexander. I also like Zadyn, Cameron, Aidan, Hayden,Carson,Ethan,Landon, and Triston.
Golfgal, I guess all we had to do was wait a while for the really goofy names to be mentioned. It did take 4 months, though :rotfl:. I'll let the reader pick out the ones that they feel are goofy themselves, but there is quite a nice selection here!

That's interesting. My DD's middle name is my last name.

I don't know how someone could like Grace (lovely classic) and Payson (). Destiny is a total pole dancer name (or maybe perfume).

My guess is that the "97" in that poster's username is the year of her birth. The list has quite the tween feel to it.

Well, that's just scary! I'd be a bit freaked out about dd14 watching Teen Mom's if I knew she was making up some baby names.

They are all so kreatyv and t'rendeigh.

I love your name!

Thank you.:goodvibes

Ash-leen! That's what I was trying to figure out how to write, like a cross between -ling and -lin. Sometimes my brain don't think so good. :-P

When I was little I use to say to grammy "but there's a g in my name!" And she'd say " I AM sayin' the g, darlin'" It's just stayin' up on the roof of me mouth!" That Irish brogue had a mind of it's own.

It blew my mind when I met a Niamh and learned how she spelled her name!
