Needed: Good Resume names for baby girl

True ... but should her daughter want to go far in business or politics then I think a goofy name is a detriment. Not everyone can overcome a name like "Condoleezza" or "Barack" and I am sure that both of them worked harder to prove themselves because of their names. There is no reason to put more roadblocks in place for your children just because they might want to be a bartender.

But they have discounted 100's of perfectly good names...none of which are goofy or a detriment of any kind.

I really like the names Kadalyn Alexia (kade-uh-lyn) and Avery Jayde. You can put either of those first names with the middle name of your choosing. A few other names I recommend are Emilee,Jayden,Karlea,Madilyn,Raleighn,Kourtlea,McKenna,Alexandra,Faith,Alexia (lexi), McKynlea,Brenna,Akiera,Grace,Lydia,Senecca,Natalea,Brooke,Makaila,Maddie,Peyton,Destiny,Payson, and Peytlea.

For boys I like Masen Gage and Carter Alexander. I also like Zadyn, Cameron, Aidan, Hayden,Carson,Ethan,Landon, and Triston.

What about:
Catherine Ruth
Stephanie Ruth
Allison Ruth?

Rule of thumb - put the words "Supreme Court Justice" in front of any name and see how it sounds.

This post is from JANUARY and just got bumped. I'm betting Baby (Insert First Name) Ruth probably has been born and already has a name. ;)

I like classic, traditional names. My daughter's name is Katherine, and if I ever have another girl, I like Caroline (Caro-LINE). For middle names I like to get a little creative, especially since I read that 80% of girls born since 1990 have the same 6 middle names.

Really? That's so interesting! Do you have any idea as to what they were?

I'm trying to find the article and I can't...it does not take into account different spellings, and IIRC they were Ann, Elizabeth, Nicole, Jo, Grace, and either Kay or Rose (or maybe both and it was 7?).

Name Nerds has a good article on middle names. I find it interesting that boys are usually given family names as middle names, but girls are usually given "filler" names. My middle name is Eileen, and I gave my daughter an interesting middle name too - Theta.

#1 Marie
#2 Rose
#3 Elizabeth
#4 Anne
#5 Lynn
#6 Grace
#7 Anna
#8 Nicole
#9 May
#10 Christine

Very interesting! My middle name was going to be Elizabeth, but my mom thought "Samantha Elizabeth" was too long. So I have one of the other middle names instead :rotfl:.

Aisling Ruth is nice.;)

I love the name Aisling! Have you ever seen the movie The Secret of Kells? That is one of DD's favorite movies, and "Aisling" apparently frequently comes over to play. I have a super Irish maiden name, and one of my brothers says he hopes his future wife will let him name their kids super Irish names like Aisling and Saoirse.

I have seen that movie!

If your brother names his kids those names, he can be sure they won't have to use their last name initial to differentiate them from the other kids in class with the same name, because there won't be any!

How do you pronounce Saoirse?
I'm just guessing that Aisling is pronounced phonetically(AYS-ling?)

A dear friend of mine is named Amy Ruth. I always loved her name.

my sisters name is Betty Ruth.

I'd stay away from any name that if said quickly could be misinterpreted to sound like "Baby Ruth."

Did Gwyneth Paltrow really not know that if people put an "i" at the end of her daughter, Apple's name that she'd be Apple Martini?

Like bad Initial combinations, kids can be really cruel with rhyming names, similar sounding jeers, "Hey, Baby Ruth, you got some candy for me?" or in Apple's case, adding on an "i". :sad2:

I wonder what the OP finally named her baby?
