DH and I are going to WDW next week and upgrading our tickets to the Premier pass since we are going to DL for 8 days in October and planning a return trip to WDW in May 2011.

My question is about a ticket for my DS. He is not going to WDW with us next week, but will be on the next 2 trips. The price of the DL ticket for him with the on-line discount plus the price for the WDW ticket for the May trip is about $140 less than getting him a Premier pass. But we are only able to order him a 5 or 6 day pass for DL (can't remember which one is was). Since we will be there for 2 to 3 more days do you think it would be worth is to upgrade him to the Premier pass for $140 more?

Also, where can I purchase this pass for him at DL if we do decide to go this route?

Thanks for the advice.

You might want to take a closer look. The current 5 for 3 deal expires this month and had to be purchased already, the deal on the 6 day is for buying it online ahead of time rather than at the gates, still check your dates against when that can be used.

Check the details when you figure out your costs.

I'd also note, when one person has an AP the party gets the discounts that come with it when you stay and eat together. So only get more than one if you need it for the park entries.

We missed the 3 for 5 deal since our trip is in October. I would plan ahead and buy on-line to save the money if I decide not to buy my son the Premier pass. A 6 day hopper is $216. The ticket that we will most likely buy for our May trip to WDW for him is $378. The Premier Pass is about $725. So my Mickey math is that it would be about $131 more to buy him the pass versus buying the tickets individually. DH and I will have Premier passes so we really don't need the pass for DS for the discounts.

If DL had an 8 day pass this is what we would buy so I'm thinking of upgrading since this would cover DS having tickets to the parks for our entire trip. Not sure if this is too much time at DL, but we have never been and won't have transportation.:confused3

I guess it just depends on if you want to go for the full 8 days in October. We personally have done 3 6-day trips to DLR in the last year (plus a 3-day trip). Especially if you've never been, I wouldn't say 8 is too much. There is a lot to enjoy. Maybe get the 6 day pass for now and if you decide on going more than that once you are here then upgrade to the premier pass.

8 sounds like a lot. 6 does too, really 3-5 for DLR is great. But are you aware there will be Halloween parties? There is AP pricing for that and the tickets are extra. But for you this really mean DL will close early and be busier on these days, Tuesdays and Friday plus Halloween day.

I guess it depends alot on how many people are going. I think 4-5 days is enough for the current 4 of us. We did many things many times and really only missed WOC as a group.
