Just booked airfare and now looking for somewhere to stay. We have no more points left to use and it will be just the wife and I. No kids this trip it will only be a 4 day stay but I do need suggestions on where to stay. We do have AP's if that helps and don't want to spend a mint on the room especially if we are going to be out and about most of the time. Thanks for the help.:goodvibes

Assuming you mean off-site. Have you checked some of the deals on Allears.Net? That's the first place I would look.

Your APs can get you great discounts on room rates. You'll get the highest % off deluxe resorts and lowest % off value resorts. Check out the discounts for the time your going and go from there. I myself love the Wilderness Lodge and that is usually one of the least expensive deluxe resorts along with the Animal Kingdom Lodge. For the moderates, Port Orleans has wonderful theming, and I have yet to stay at a value but I think there is a new one that just opened. Have fun planning.

I'd check out any of the mods, if cost is a big factor. Have you checked to see if there are any AP rates for your dates?

I would definitely stay at POFQ again! I would not stay at any of the All-Star resorts ever again (the one night was enough!) unless it was a get in at 10pm leave at 8am situation...the room is small and the bed was not very comfy. You might check on the AP discount for Contemporary's Garden Wing. What about the Swan and Dolphin? Enjoy!

We have stayed @ POR, CBR, and CSR over the past 4 years. CSR was nice because we had queen sized beds. Don't know if that has changed @ other mods recently. Coronado had a nice food court and gift shop and the transportation was generally good.

You could consider renting points if you want to do DVC. It would probably cost the same or less.

Enjoy!!

I thought about S&D but no ME stinks. I also breifly thought of a value but was booed out of the room by the wife.
I think we are left with looking into the Corronados and POR type places. i Hope that has decent AP rates.

Thanks trying to keep it on site.

Will check out the suggestions.

You could probably get enough points for a DVC studio for less than a moc would cost if there is availability for the time you are looking for. If you haven't had points transferred in this year you could do that and have complete comtrol of your reservation.

This is what I would do, renting might be your best option. ME saves alot of money, plus the time saved will make your get a-way more pleasant.

Our most recent trip was at Port Orleans Riverside! We loved it! The theming and grounds were wonderful! I had stayed at French Quarter numerous times but after staying at Riverside I knew if I did PO again it would be there. This was also the trip we bought into DVC so I don't think we'll be seeing it for a while but who knows. If you’re looking towards a moderate the Riverside is my recommendation.

Thanks, I'll loook into it. Any on property mods or lower, have king beds?

At the moderates, you can specifically book a king bed. I would go with POFQ, it's my favorite mod because of the small size of the resort.

I agree. POFQ was the first onsite resort we stayed in. We were very happy with the whole experience. It gave us the idea that if we liked that, we were bound to love the deluxe resorts we could experience if we were DVC members. So a year later we purchased our membership.

I would think of renting or transfer but it is too late for that. I check availability for oct2-6 and couldnt get more than 2 days in a row anywhere.
Thanks for the reccomendations.:goodvibes

Just booked a POFQ king bed room. We are still waiting on AP rates.

Any other hotel suggestions? I almost choked when they told me the price of the delux resorts....God bless DVC.
