I can't believe I am almost done with all my shopping and have nothing for my dd. She is 17 yo. She made a very modest wish list and other family members covered all of it. Now I have no ideas and no presents for our dd. She has a laptop and an iphone so those are out. Any ideas. Also, I usually just go shopping and see things but due to health reasons I can not go out, I can only cyber shop. Thanks for the help!
Would she like some experiences?
I'm not sure what there is around your area but there are often lots of classes for a weekend or even a day that she might like - I gave someone an afternoon trapeze class once, that was a huge hit. There's stuff for every interest usually - cheese-making, cooking, trapeze, circus stunt classes, actual movie stunt stuff, stunt driving (there are lots of these, some where you go to a track and use their cars, some where you bring your own and learn stuff like how to do J turns, which can also have some safety elements w/re handling and skids and etc.), flower arranging, jewlery-making, glass-blowing, pottery, painting or drawing, etc., etc.
Small friend-based or home-based little packages might be nice.
Like you could order some movie passes from Costco (they have passes to most theatres usually cheaper than the regular tickets - if they're not cheaper, you could just order a gift card to the local theatre), and a Starbucks or Coldstone or such gift card, so she could go to the movies with her friends and out for coffee or ice cream after.
Or order maybe a game system for her like a Wii or Playstation or Xbox that you all might play - or if you don't think she'd like that, some board games you guys could play together or some from when she was little that she liked that you don't have anymore plus some movies you both like to watch and some gourmet hot cocoa - you could do those and an itunes gift card so she can have games to play with you and games for herself.
Or, if she wears or appreciates jewlery, you could do a statement thing. She didn't ask for a lot, which would indicate she doesn't have a bunch of 'stuff' she wants, so you could spend what you might have spent on a bunch of stuff and get her a real piece of jewlery. Maybe something with an actual gemstone she'd like or real 'adult' classic, like, workplace stuff. Classic, good quality gold (or whatever she wears) earrings and a chain with a heart or something engraved - something she could keep and wear always.
