Here is my question:

My mom, sister, and I are going to DW the first week in February. I have a Premium annual pass and Disney Club.

We are staying for 5 nights and leaving the first thing on the 6th day. To get their tickets, I don't want to pay for the 5 night/6 day Ultimate Hopper pass because we won't be using the 6th day at all.

Should I order now the 4 night/5 day pass? Will that work or will I not be able to do anything on my last night in DW?

Or should I wait until we check in and buy their tickets at the desk so that they can take the last day off? But can I get a DC discount or PAP discount that way?

What is my best bet and cheapest? I am trying to save them the most money possible.

Any help at all is very much appreciated! And if you have any other suggestions please feel free to suggest them. Thank you!

I just called today to find out about tickets with my Disney Club Card. We just went in August and got 4 day park hopper passes and received a discount (about 6%) with my Disney Club Card.

Well, I called both Disney World (the 800 number) and my local Disney Store and found out that there is no longer a discount for a Disney Club Card holder unless you buy a 6 day park hopper pass. As usual, the passes don't expire, but I'd rather hold on to my money rather than the unused days of my pass, especially if there is no discount. That's why I got this card!

We're taking a quick trip early February so I'll just get my tickets when I'm there. You might want to consider length of stay passes.

I hope this helps!

There are still DC discounts on some passes. The annual passes being just one.

Follow this link for a complete rundown.

Another way to get good prices on tickets is to order them from:
www.ticketmania.com or www.floridaorlandotickets.com
there are a few other places to order online, but, I don't have the web address for them.

I would avoid the UHPs. I would buy the 5 day from one of the above mentioned sources and purchase any other tickets, like PI from the gate, where for 5.00 more you get 5 nights. It will probably be too cold in Feb. for water parks, so, the UHP would be sort of a waste. You are paying for those extras.

My problem with buying just regular hopper passes is that we like to do Disney Quest, at least once, and we love Pleasure Island. And we will probably be there at least 4 nights.

If we buy all that separately it comes out way more expensive doesn't it?

I think you can split your reservation in 2:
1) a 4 nights reservation with ultimate pass
2) a 1 night reservation "hotel only".
So you don't have to pay for a ticket you are not using.

To Gail Hayden,

Thanks for the info! I'll check that link. I don't think I have enough time to order tickets by mail, but we'll see.

To Rockncoaster,

I think you can still get a discount with your Disney Club card to Pleasure Island (at least I did) and maybe to DisneyQuest. It might be cheaper for you to get a regular Park Hopper and pay separately for those two, if you choose to do them.

The combinations are almost mind-boggling, aren't they? It almost makes you need a vacation!:D

They will get to you in about a week. Or.........you can pick them up there or have them delivered to your resort.

As I said, if you buy one night at PI and pay 5.00 more, you will get 5 nights. Ticketmania.com has discount tickets for DQ.
Price it out, I think you would be better off not buying the UPH.
And........unused features can be held for future use.

I know a little bit about your situation because I'm facing a similar dilemma. Here's the best way to sum up your two primary options:

1. If you purchase in advance you WILL get the advance purchase and Disney Club discounts but you WILL NOT be able to drop your departure day. They only let you drop a day when you purchase at check-in.

2. If you wait until check-in, you WILL be able to drop the departure day, but you WILL NOT get either of the discounts. The Disney Club discount is now only available on advance purchases.

The one alternative I can think of would be to shorten your Disney Resort stay by a day, and stay your final night off-site somewhere else. You would then be able to advance purchase the 5 days UPH, and have full use of the parks until the last night you are there. Obviously there is a hassle factor involved, and transportation may be a problem if you don't have a car available. But that's the only way I can think of whereby you would be able to get the best price on a 5-day pass.

Price after tax for advance purchase of a 5 day park hopper plus is $261.82 without any discounts. DisneyQuest through Ticketmania is $24, bringing ticket total to $285.82.

Since you can't drop days on an advance purchase, the UPH is $297.86 for 5 nights/6 days.

For the "gate price" of a 4 night/5 day, it comes to $276.66 for the UPH.

So, cheapest option would be (as far as I can see) to purchase the UPH when you get there and have the last day dropped.

I have bought tickets from outside the park at the Walmart in Kissimmee. (On 192 in behind Midevil times) In the front of the store they have a travel center. I am planning a spring trip and in December called for prices. A 5 day adult PHP is 256. taxes included. A child is 208. (These are cheaper than AAA). I have seen better prices thru mousesavers.com /connections but connections costs a $79. annual fee to join & I am unsure these prices include taxes. The walmart tickets are regular tickets, no strings. I have there number if you are interested (407) 397-0090.
