My DH and I will be taking our 2 DD's to DW next December for 1 week. Our DD's will be 3 1/2 and 1 1/2 - we were thinking of staying at the Grand Floridian and wanted to know if this is an appropriate resort for small children. We had read somewhere that it seems to cater more towards couples.

I have never stayed at GF but I think every resort in Disney is used to having children and staying there with your children shouldn't be a problem.

We stay at Contemporary cause we like being able to walk over to MK. Plus having Chef Mickey's in the lobby is a huge bonus.

The GF is perfectly fine for young kids. THey can really go either way. It's the perfect place to stay if you are on your honeymoon...it's also the perfect place to stay with your entire family!!!

Have a great time!

I have not stayed there, but my neighbors just got back from staying there. There employer had a very large convention there. Almost everybody brought their families (incl young children)along. If that is where you want to stay I would go for it. It looks amazing! Besides, you can resort hop to Contemporary, Poly, and WL for other meals, etc.

Wow--you are starting at the top as far as resorts go ! Have a wonderful time and how lucky you are that cost is not a roadblock.

The GF has a nice baby pool area...

The baby pool is in front of the building to the right...
I actually saw quite a few infants and toddlers during our stay there.
