My fiancé and I are planning on being in Orlando the first week of December. Having taken a quick look at the theme parks I think we will do Disney one day maybe 2 and Universal 2 days, with a day break in-between. What should we do about accommodations? Do we stay at Disney one or two days and at Universal 2 days? Or do we pick a hotel in-between the two parks and rent a car to drive there or take a shuttle?

I was looking at the Crown Plaza Orlando, any thoughts on that hotel?

We would also like to take in some night life, dinner/drinks at a cool bars/restaurants. Would we go to downtown Disney or on i-Drive or Universal?

Thanks for your advise.

What you would do and what we would do may be totally different. You have to decide for yourself.
We like to totally immerse ourselves in whatever theme park we visit so we always stay on site. Whether its Disney, Universal or Cedar Point. We would do 3 days at a WDW resort and 2 days at a Universal Resort like Portofino.

Early December is a pretty slow time so you may be able to get some good deals.

:wave2: my boyfriend and I will be there that same time! Supposed to be a beautiful time to go. I decided to stay offsite, and considered everything but especially Crown Plaza, Royal Plaza, and HGVC on Int. I decided to go with the Hilton because it had a full kitchen (for making snacks) and a washer dryer, jacuzzi tub, balcony, and it was more then one room. Comfort is a big factor when we travel. Check out hotelkingdom.com or go to Hilton's website for Netdirect rates. We are doing 2/2 split between dis and Universal too- hope to see u there.

First WELCOME TO THE DIS!!!! You found the perfect place to help plan your trip!!!!! When we do a split trip between multiple parks we usually just pick a great offsite hotel. If we were only doing one destination, then we'd stay onsite. However, we are the type of people that don't overly enjoy switching hotels (it always seems the 2nd hotel is never as nice as the first!!)
