My husband is a manager in an office and has about 10 people working for him. He usually gets a small gift for each of them. I think the first year he thought to do it - it was "last minute" and we went to the candy store and bought them each a box of truffles. Now that he has more time to thinkabout it, he can't figure out what to give them. He hesitates to do candy again because so many people are dieting. Most of the gift baskets at Costco are more than he wants to spend. Any ideas (spending around $10-15 each?)

a lunch gift certificate

I am wondering the same thing for my staff. I was thinking about a motivational book.

I think I would be offended if my boss gave me a motivational book for christmas, I would much rather have a gift card to a book store so I could buy my own book.

Gourmet coffee or tea?

eBay gift certificate?

Small fruit tray or basket?

"Get out of work 15 minutes early" pass ?????:teeth:

I found a recipe book for those pre-measured recipes that people put in mason jars. Between my 2 DDs, they have 12 teachers, so it is a good deal for me. You layer the recipe ingredients in a mason jar, then attach a recipe card (contents of the jar, plus...). I talked to a teached friend of mine befroe I went forward witrh it, and she thought it was a great gift. Something very easy to do in bulk. I have several different recipes if interested!

Business card holders?

Coffee, like some kinda gourmet coffee with a mug (not brewed, of course. :crazy2: )

I like the lunch gift certificate idea too, but choose a decent place, not McDonalds!

A couple of my past bosses have given me gift certificates to area restaurants for Christmas. Those were a definite good perk.

I like the idea of gift certificates...............that way the recipients are able to choose what they do with it & when they use it.:D

Gifts are hard toi buy in bulk as everyone has different tastes, so I'd go with something generic like a gift certificate.

Good luck;)

barnes and noble gift certificates~movie tickets~grocery store g/c all I would love.

Last year I got a Gift Certificate for a local food store that helped me with the dinner for Christmas.

I agree about gift certificates. My dh used to get them from occasionally from bosses and used to give them to staff and they were always a hit. Dunkin Donuts was a biggie for some reason!

One that he got that he still hasn't used was to a mens store. there wasn't one close to us, it wasn't much money so whatever he bought (outside of socks) he would have had to add to. He just never remembered it, really. We came across it a few months ago...its 6 years old now. I feel bad that it went to waste. I think its a better idea to go for one that is more likely to be used in the dollar amount given. Like Dunkin Donuts if there are a lot in your area or at least near the office, or blockbuster/hollywood video/whichever is more common. Barnes and Noble is usually good because readers will be psyched and even non-readers often like magazines, calendars, and other things they carry. Mugs are a nice idea, but most people I know have more than they could possibly want as it is.

Could you do American Express gift checks? We got one once and it was great since we could use it almost anywhere. Otherwise, bookstore or food place for a gift cert would probably be nice.
