So, I've been racking my brain trying to come up with ways to reveal to my husband that I have planned a trip for us next weekend! My MIL is watching the kids, we have airfare, we have AP's, we have BWV, we have tix's to P&P Party, we have dinner ressies! I just don't know a fun way to tell him.

Anyone want to help???

Start giving him little gifts and see if he gets it. You could start with travel sized stuff, sunscreen, something for the P&P Party. If he still doesn't get it, start getting out his "Disney" vacation stuff. If he still doesn't get it, lay out his AP and leave a note for him to meet you at the BWV's next weekend for a kiddo free fun fill weekend.:thumbsup2

Drive to the airport. Park. Open the trunk. Remove the bags. Go into airport with bags. Give him his plane ticket. He'll get the hint eventually. The hard part is seeming absolutely normal until you drive into the airport.

Seriously, my Dad did this to my Mom for their 30th wedding anniversary. They retraced their honeymoon from 1959. By 1989, the roads had improved and Chattanooga Tn, was only a 3 1/2 hour drive from their home. Dad told Mom that they were running an errand to Huntsville, Al., and by the time Mom figured it out, they were over half way there. She was thrilled to see that her bags were packed and she was all set. By all accounts they had a wonderful time. I was just happy to be in on the decoy of a cake and ice cream party before they left. I'm so glad that it was a magical trip for them. Mom died unexpectadly soon after their 32nd anniversary, so its a really happy memory for the rest of us.

My sister did this - she had the whole thing booked - packed hubbies bags behind his back and hard the car loaded.

She got him to the airport under the pretext that she had to pick up a friend at the airport - so he had no idea that they were going until they parked at the airport.

On a related note - my niece was born nine months later.

Rats - my wife lives in NJ. I could really use a surprise trip! Too bad its not for me!

You could mail him an invitation to the P&P party so that it arrives a day before you leave or just give it to him that morning if it gets there early. Have someone else address it so he doesn't recognize the handwriting.
