Help! I live in a small town. We have a Wal-Mart and Target, but neither carry Body Glide. What else will work? We leave tomorrow.

Thanks!

I live in a very rural area - do not have even a WalMart or Target. So I used stick deoderant. Put in on the spots on my feet that I know get blisters or even hot spots and it worked great. I used the solid - not the gel or the spray :lmao: . Since I couldn't find Body Glide I don't know if it worked as well but it didn't work really well. I used it from the first day though, I didn't wait for a problem to start. I put it on my heels and the tops of all of my toes and along the sides of my pinky toes.

Hope this helps.

Deoderant didn't work very well? I guess I'll look into getting some Body Glide when we get to Orlando then.

KY (like the Jelly ) has some chaffing stuff in a purple tube made for hot spots. Got it at Target. Sorry I can't remember the name exactly, but I thought it worked better than Body Glide--it wasn't as sticky

I use Monostat Chaffing Gel Cream which is found at
Walmart and Target. I works Great!
It's found where the Feminine Products are.
It is in a Blue with purple box. It spreads on like
a gel then quickly turns powdery.

WNDMom - I'm not sure how you got that deorderant didn't work very well out of my reply. It worked very well for me. I just mentioned that I didn't know if it worked as well as Body Glide since I had never used Body Glide. I'm sorry if I wasn't clear on that. I have used deoderant on several trips and it worked just fine.

I got it from this part, but now, I guess it was a typo. :)

Anyway, we leave today, and we have stick deoderant. I guess we're good to go!

Thanks for all of the replies with great advice!

:thumbsup2 We use regular vaseline. Works like a charm and also good for sun-chapped lips!

UGH - typo's. I'm so sorry!! It was supposed to read - "It did work really well". What a miscommunication on my part. Not only do I type slow, but obviously I don't type very well either. I feel really bad about that. I will have to read over my posts better so that I don't give people the wrong impression about things. Sorry about the confusion.

Band-Aid makes something in a mini-size deodorant tube (teal colored with a foot on the front) in the band-aid section. I've been using it for a couple years, as I have never found body glide in stores until about a month ago.

Try that! It's compact, handy, and works, too. ;)

ok, you were right. It is Monostat. I found my tube. I guess I just got one feminine product confused with the other. It does work great though.

My feet get sweaty and I get blisters on them at any time of year when I'm walking that many miles in a day.

That monistat stuff in the tube sold along with the feminine products really does work wonders it is odor less too so the entire family can use it.

Watch using it on feet if you gonna wear crocs without socks or sandals as it leaves feet to slippery.

It not near as expensive as the body glide an does the same thing lasts all day unless you swim an it's much easier to find than body glide.

This stuff works great, both to prevent blisters on feet and chaffing on thighs.

I agree about the Monistat anti-chaffing gel stuff...it works amazingly well. It does leave a little residue, but it really does work. I wasn't able to find it at any store where I live (not even Walgreens had it in stock), but I ordered it from Drugstore.com. When I ordered it they had it on sale; I don't know if that sale is still on but it's worth a try. And the tubes last a long time.

I've used Secret anti-persperant that I spray liberally anywhere that might chafe; feet, thighs, etc. Works great.

Sorry, but I am still not clear on how this stuff works to prevent blisters. Can someone explain how it works? It just seems to me if your shoes are going to rub enough to give a blister, it can do it through a coating of waxy stuff?
