Need advice-Lost blanket in room

Thanks, it was about another post answering yours. It's lost, it's gone though Disney has a huge lost and found, finding a specific item when you've gone home is tough. We travel light and do not take things that are sentimental or hold any value because things do get lost and misplaced. Sorry for you loss but the best remedy before hand is caution with your things and knowing where your items are, hence our traveling light, less to store away and watch after. Sorry if you felt post was at you and rude.

Traveling light is good in theory ;) but try telling that to 2 kids who always sleep with their blankets. :sad2: I try to keep an eye on everyone's stuff, but in the mad rush out the door I left the blanket on the bed.

shelley- actually mousekeeping was who we called first and explained what happened, they just transferred us to lost and found. The second time we called after giving the blanket a few days to turn up, we called mousekeeping again and re-explained and were transferred again.

Oh I hope you get it back. It's so sad for your DD. Last Aug 07 we went to Disney and my DS (5) had taken with us his favorite stuffed monkey that he has slept with since he was a baby. Normally he'd carry it on the plane. However coming home we decided to pack him. Don't you know Jetblue lost our bag with his monkey in it. He/we couldn't remember a time he didn't sleep with that monkey which he calls "Mugga". I couldn't care about anything else in that bag but we had to get "Mugga" back. It had been in our family now for 10 years (It originally came from Bermuda and belonged to my oldest DS) . My 5 year old cried that night without his "Mugga", but thank you JetBlue the next day they found our bag. I can not tell you how happy my DS was to see his "Mugga" again:rotfl: . He's 6 now and still sleeps with him. Oh to be a child again. So I have faith that you will get your blanket back. Keep calling and if you have a picture send it to them. Good Luck.

Jennifer - I'm sorry mousekeeping wasn't able to help you. Maybe they were more helpful because we were still there and they could hear the crying child in the background. Hugs to your son - is he sleeping okay without the blanket?

Thanks Shelly! It's actually my dd and she's doing ok, she gets sad when I call ASMu and have no good news, but she's sleeping fine now.

We actually called mousekeeping while we were still there too a number of times, but they just transferred us to lost and found each time, including right after when it happened.

The blanket went missing on 9/3 and we were still checked in until 9/13. It wasn't until 10 days later when I finally went to the front desk when they told me I needed to fill something out to report it.

Lost and found wasn't that helpful to tell you the truth. At one point I called on a wednesday (after calling monday and tuesday) and the lady I spoke to told me that their system hadn't been updated since the previous saturday, so I should try calling on friday.

Thanks again to everyone for your kind words! I'm still believing it could turn up out of the blue! :wizard: this is Disney World after all. :)

Hi,

Some words of encouragement. About 4 years ago when we stayed at the Beach Club, my daughter had her small Bear (from the Big Blue House) with her. She slept with him, and both of my daughters would put their animals on top of their pillows before we left the room in the morning. Housekeeping would usually do somehting cute with the animals while we were gone. One night, I realized Bear was missing. We tossed the room looking for him. Finally I realized he must have left the room in the sheets. I reported it to Housekeeping, and they told me to check later. It's been a while, so the details are fuzzy, but we too got the "Call Housekeeping, Call Front Desk, Check Back Later, Oh, You should Have Filled Out a Form" runaround. The morning we were leaving, I went down to the front desk where they had me fill out another form. They kept saying that they WOULD find him (although it had already been 4-5 days), and they would mail him to us. We went home and I called for a couple of days, but they said they had not found Bear. About a week later, I received a package with Bear!!! My daughter was thrilled. You could tell that he had been on a very rough trip through the washer and dryer. His little nose was scraped up a bit. I could not believe that he had been returned to us.

As far as the circumstances under which Bear went missing: Bear was sitting out on TOP of the pillow on top of the bed. I think that housekeeping should definitely have seen him. They do have to be careful, and must use their heads. They have to look at the beds, and cannot simply strip EVERYTHING off of the bed. I mean, are they going to start handing out cards at check-in that say, "Make sure you take everything off of the bed in the morning before you leave the room. Items left on or in bed are subject to removal?"

That being said, my girls are now 18 and 14 and when we stay in a hotel, every morning I still make sure that all PJ's, personal pillows, animals and books are placed in a drawer.
