thought i would do a pre trippie
who's going:
Myself, Naomi 29 chief planner/ wedding and events planner
Dh Tony 35 chief money earner / martial artist
Ds Cameron 11 chief mess maker/ martial artist/bmx& skate boarder
We are flying from Bristol to sanford on the sunday 17th october, this holiday will be mine and ds 1st orlando holiday and dh 4th even though we nearly had to cancel 2 weeks ago.
I started planning this holiday about 3 years ago, I thought october would be a good time to go as its not too hot and its half term . so i got a few prices and went and booked it without telling dh.
about 1 year ago i let slip that i had booked a holiday and dh and ds thought we were going to spain or camping again and got really excited . I didnt tell them where we were going but left clues around the house.
It took ds less than 1 hour to work it out and promised not to tell his dad so he could work it out himself, but dh took over a week !!!
let the saving begin.
luckily dh gets a juicy bonus every year for all his overtime so i managed to open dh wallet, dust off the cobwebs and go and pay off the holiday.
So the planning now begins, i have looked at hundreds of photos/videos and reveiws, bought all the books and now i can finally say im finished.
having not been to florida before and dh being a coaster freak i knew i had to plan some sort of itinerary or dh & ds would be spending all their time on coasters and me being a coaster widow , so i booked a itinerary planning service and just gave them all the info and tickets we have and they sorted it all for us!!!
now rewind to 2 weeks ago ,
dh cut his hand open at work and being a typical ex serviceman just put a plaster on it and carried on with work, the 1st aider at work had a look at took him to hospital where he has since had a plaster cast on for 4 days, then a operation to repair the tendon and now has a lovely bright yellow splint onit to keep the finger straight for 3 months .
i had told ds not to do rugby or any skateboarding/bmxing before the holiday just in case.
we are presently waiting for dh to get a appointment to have his stitches out and hand checked over before we can do anything else.
i have tried to explain to dh that he can still walk, ride coasters ect, but he seems to think this will be the most boring holiday ever as he is injured.
this lasted less than 10 minutes when i explained to him that my mother who is disabled and has just been told that her hip bones have crumbled is going to Florida the same time as us with my 2 younger brothers and is planning on not letting anything spoil her holiday.
