I read that they're pretty much just voiding that championship. They're not letting USC take credit for it, but they're not giving the championship (so to speak) to anyone else.

Perhaps the BCS will do that, but the AP might have different ideas. The BCS has said that they will wait until the appeals are complete to decide.

I find all of the "Lane Kiffin got his" attitude by spurned University of Tennessee fans amusing - the investigation was almost done by the time he got to USC, and it was no secret - he still got a fat contract, only now he has some time to develop the team before he goes to post season play!

I'm not a University of Tennessee fan. I actually graduated from USC. But if memory serves me, I think Kiffin worked for USC during the Reggie Bush time. I could be wrong though. I just turned 40 and my memory is already failing me.

Anyway, I feel bad for the current athletes, as well as the athletes who played with Reggie Bush and did not break any rules. How stupid could Reggie Bush and his family be?! And why didn't someone in the Athletic department stop them when they discovered it?!

Oh, and it's being reported on ESPN that there will be no national champion for the year in question. It is definitely a hard punishment, but that's what the team gets for breaking rules. I hope a lesson is learned by all Universities, since this goes on all over the country. It's just that most universities don't get caught.
