National Lampoon's Fun w/Dis Friends 2010!! ~ DAY 7-Final :( 6/27

Hi Blue !!! I am also somewhat better !! Went back to mucinex !!!! I think it is seasonal for me with the change in temps from day to day !! I don't have an infection just lots of DRIP that makes me cough !!!!

Glad you got better Rosie!!! I'm soooo glad to be feeling better too. That was just AWFUL!!! I hope not to get sick like that again....EVER!

Love, love, love it! The gifts are great Cherie, you're really creative. Esp. digging Jordan's kilt cozy :lmao: The party looked like loads of fun and the face alterations reminded me of my trip with Ecogirl (miss her, she moved across country when we left Disney) Your painting looks faboosh, I'm impressed! :thumbsup2

Leyla!!!! Glad you are here. Thanks about the funny gifts. It was fun doing shopping for all of that.

Aww, I remember your TR with Ecogirl! Do you talk to her often? I know you two were really good friends. That always stinks when someone moves so far away.

Thanks about the painting. I'm bringing my mom to another one tomorrow night for her birthday. We'll see how this one turns out! It looks a little more difficult.

Night Blue !!

Nite Rosie!!

Ok, everyone.....Sorry that I've been MIA lately! After being sick the last thing I want to do is sit around the house. I'm about to head out again to go to Pilates. I'm planning on doing an update tonight while watching the Dancing with the Stars results show!! Stay tuned......

Cool..will be waiting

You are getting so close to your next trip :dance3:

I have a bit of bad news. I won't be doing an update tonight. As soon as I got to pilates this afternoon I got a call from my mother. Her very good friends son died in a car crash today. My mom is really upset and is trying to be there for her friend. I'm trying to be there for my mom.

I'm going to try again tomorrow sometime to do an update.

There was something about someone dying in a car wreck today on our prayer chain from church. I wonder if it was the same young man? Related to a Nusser?

So sorry :grouphug:

Ecogirl and I talk all the time, she was here in Nov and wil be back in July. :cool1: If I do the DCL part of Jordan's trip (Eco and I are both turning 40 during the tentative days) I'll be dragging her along! maybeevenminuspierreandthekids :rolleyes1

When I left off we were making our way around World Showcase and checking in at one of the Kim Possible kiosks to get DS's first mission of this trip!! HOWEVER...... I just realized that I left some stuff out of my last update. We did more around Future World than I first remembered. We actually did pick up a fast pass for Soarin' early in the morning and then found Nemo, met the characters, and headed back into the Land to eat lunch!! Once again the whole food allergy debacle came into play. I had to ask for a Chef who came out from the back to explain to me what he could and couldn't have. Before I even went over there I looked over the menu and pre-picked out what I thought he'd be able to eat. I figured I'd start by asking if the meal I had in mind was safe or not rather than having them have to list everything. WRONG!!!!! I picked out the burger which is also what DS said he wanted but she told me he couldn't have the bread!! I will go ahead and let you know here and now that if you go to WDW with a peanut allergy, just stay away from all of the bread. Yes, I said BREAD OF ALL THINGS!! :sad2: Every single place we went to said not to trust the bread. There are so many different types of bread at WDW and even just the hamburger buns were not guaranteed to be safe. :confused3 You have no idea how much this puts a damper on trying to find meals for a 6 year old. Especially a picky 6 year old. :rolleyes1 In the end he ended up with exactly what he said he DIDN'T want which was the baked chicken drumstick and veggies with jello for desert. He hates drumsticks. Mostly because of the bone and the nasty vein things that are inside...and well....I can't really say I blame him. I had to think fast and make a deal with him. "I promise to pick all of the MEAT ONLY off of the bone and throw the bone away so that you can eat the chicken without having to deal with the other stuff" ...............DEAL!!!! He was happy with that. THANK THE LORD. Another crazy meal experience down and only 2 per day more for the next 5 days. :headache::headache::headache:

Here we are after eating....

And now it's time to ride Soarin'.....
4450196363_143b7d1498.jpg

After that we rode Soarin' for the 2nd time this trip, then headed our to World Showcase!

Ok, so now I can pick up where I left off last time in World Showcase. I believe we were crossing the bridge into France. :yay:

We strolled around a bit, then sat and did a little people watching. We saw more Saints fans.......

I also saw my first sort of crazy looking outfit while there. It was made of velour or terry cloth or something. :confused3 It was VERY thick material. Almost like a robe but it was a dress.....with knee socks and nurse looking shoes.
4450207101_8652db4668_b.jpg

Whatever. To each his/her own, I guess.

Moving on....I find the wine store!! :woohoo: I bought myself a bottle of wine for watching the game later. (I'm not a big beer drinker. I leave that to DH.) I also bought a mini-bottle of champagne for if the Saints win the Superbowl......or in case they lose and I need more liquor. Take your pick.

After this, I stroll on out the door to find DH and DS who have found the street performers. We stayed and watched. It was fun! We've never really SLOOOWED DOWN and relaxed while touring WS. This was a whole new touring style for us. We liked it. Here are some pictures from the performance....

DS's Kim Possible mission was in Japan!! We made our way there and got to work. I just realized that I didn't take any pictures while there. I guess I was really getting into that mission! :confused3 Anyway, you know how when the mission is over it tells you where to go to drop the kimmunicator into a drop box?? Well this one was giving us a choice to go on to another mission before it got to that. :woohoo: I clicked on "yes" and.......it automatically downloaded a new mission!!! This time was in Germany. AWESOME!! I wonder if they set it up that way because there weren't many people in the park?? Not sure, but I will say that it was nice because it kept DS entertained for our entire journey throught WS. He did a mission in Japan, Germany, Italy, and then China. Those were the countries that we hadn't done last trip. It was actually letting us choose which country we wanted to go to.

So, on the way to Germany we got stopped by a lady who was originally from Texas. She started talking to us about how she was "rootin'" for the Saints to win the Superbowl and asking us where we were from. She was also......A DISNEY VACATION CLUB CM!! Yeah, you know where this is going don't ya?? ;) Anyhoo, DH grabbed a beer and one of those HUGE turkey legs that he has been wanting to try since our trip in 2007 and hasn't been able to......until now. I introduce to you, my husband. Man of all men, with his turkey leg and beer. He just looks so barbaric. :rotfl:
4450982296_9a373dc178.jpg

Allow me to narrarate the above photo......"MMMM, ME MAN!! ME EAT BIG LEG OF MEAT!!! ME DRINK BIG OL' BEER!!!" :lmao::lmao::lmao: Just kidding. But the picture cracks me up everytime I see it.

CONTINUED IN NEXT POST.......

After talking with the DVC lady and making an appointment for later in the trip to take a tour, we headed toward Italy. I got a Bellini (sp?) here. I believe it is peach with champagne. I'm not too fond of peach but sipped it anyway. DS did his Kim Possible mission and I snapped pictures. I just love all the detail in Italy.

Moving on....some of my pic's may be out of order.
Here are some pics of the mini-train exhibit. DS just loves this!

On to Germany!! DS's next mission was here. DH decided to try one of those big ol' German beers!! We mostly focused on "helping" DS with his mission. By this time DH's 2 big ol' beers were kicking in and so was my Bellini. Not sure how much help we actually were. Just Kidding! ;) We WERE able to laugh at ourselves a bit more when we couldn't find something. I only took one picture while in Germany. This is it....
4450219255_34ef36f9f7.jpg

Yeah, I know....speaks volumes, doesn't it? :rotfl: We also met a couple in here who were WAAAY more tipsy than we were. Right after DH put that hat up, they came around the corner and the husband put the hat on and they both started cracking up laughing. And when I say cracking up, I mean......pee your pants laughing. DH and I just looked at each other and giggled and looked back at them. They started talking to us like we were old friends. They said they had just came out of Biergarten. (ya don't say!!!) :rotfl2: They were a hoot. We should have all taken a picture together. Come to think of it, there were MANY tipsy people in this gift shop. Germany sure seems like a happy place!! ;) You should have heard all the "ooh's and aahhh's" when DS made something happen inside the giftshop with his kimmunicator. (don't want to say what it is. don't want to spoil it for anyone who hasn't done this misson yet) My point is....there were lot's of very fascinated drunks......uh, I mean people in the gift shop. :rolleyes1

After Germany, DH laid off the beer and I didn't get any other drinks. I'm actually surprised to report that I had ZERO lemon martini slushe's in France this year. It was just TOO DARN COLD to be carrying that thing around!!

Up next........do we EVER make it out of WS to watch the Superbowl???? popcorn::

oh wow

I will keep them in my prayers

Thank you!

:hug::hug::hug:For you and your Mom!!!

 Thank you Rosie!
Glad you are ready and willing to be beside your mom during this really hard time! Prayers your way!

There was something about someone dying in a car wreck today on our prayer chain from church. I wonder if it was the same young man? Related to a Nusser?

I'm not sure about Nusser. He was driving a big truck carrying crude oil. A pickup truck pulled out in front of him and he tried to swerve to avoid hitting the smaller truck. He ended up hitting him anyway but not as bad as it would have been had he not swerved. The bad thing is that the big oil truck he was driving rolled over. He pretty much gave his own life trying to swerve to save someone elses. He leaves behind a wife and 4 young kids ages 2 to 9 years old. He was only 29. So sad!!!

Thank you for the prayers.

So sorry :grouphug:

Thanks Leyla:hug:

So glad you and Ecogirl are able to see each other every now and then. I am HOPING that we will get to do the cruise portion of Jordans B-day trip too! Maybe we'll finally get to meet! How awesome that you might get to do a "girls trip"!!

sounds like you all had a blast in WS, especially your DH

Seriously, it looks like it was fun, just relaxing and taking it all in.

We have not tried Kim's Impossibloe MIssion yet. Have to see if Trent would be interested in doing that next trip. Looks really cool :goodvibes

I'm so sorry for your frustrations with the food choices. Hopefully over time it will become second nature and not so difficult. I with I had taken pictures of all the Saints fans while we were there because they sure were everywhere. We had lots of "Who Dats" from lots of people who weren't even fans they just liked saying it. Your pictures are beautiful.

At this age you pretty much have to guide them on where to go each time. But DS started really getting the hang of it. They show an actual picture of where each clue is so that makes it a lot easier for them. I bet Trent would like it! It's very interactive. When you get to the "clue" you press the button on the kimmunicator and something usually happens right in front of where you are standing. It's pretty neat!

I get nervous thinking what it would be like if we took another cruise with this food allergy thing now. I'm not sure what I'd do......carry a refigerator fully stocked with me on board?? :confused3

We got tons of Who Dat's too! I think many just liked being a part of it all. You could see people's faces light up when you answered them with another "who dat" or a "we dat, that's who dat" :rotfl2: People loved it. Bystanders really loved it when two sets of Saints fans came across each other. It was usually MUCH LOUDER than the normal "who dat's" that the other people would throw out. "who dat??" "we dat!!" "believe dat!!" followed with a lot of whoo-hooo's!!! and Yeah baby's!! :lmao:

He hates drumsticks. Mostly because of the bone and the nasty vein things that are inside...and well....I can't really say I blame him.

i totally agree with him! i can't deal with chicken on a bone because of all the nastiness you encounter as you eat it. i would have needed someone to pick off the meat, too!

what a headache about the bread! :headache:

erica and i had lunch at chefs de france in september 2008 and had a seat right next to the window nearest to their performance and got to see it TWICE from that window. it was really cool because we could see an angle no one else could and there was no one between us and the performers. the guy that climbs those chairs is amazing!

I just love all the detail in Italy.

me too! it's my second-favorite country in WS. my favorite is morocco and i think the reason i love both of them is because of all the detailing!

sounds like a fun day in WS! ray and i had such fun in may 2008 when we just took our time and drank and shopped our way through WS....it was so great! we had lunch at rose & crown first and had drinks there, then a slushie in france, then some sake in japan, then a peach schnapps oolong frozen tea in china (fav drink in WS), then margaritas in mexico! we took our time so we were fine, but ready for a nap when we got back to the room!

Loved the update Blue !Chris looks sooooo Cave Manish with his Turkey leg all he needs is a club !!!:lmao:

Ya think the BIER garten might produce a few drunks !!!!!:lmao:

Hey Cherie!

Great update! Your drunk stories in Germany were crackin' me up, as was the Cave Man picture! Maybe he was thinking he was practicing up for a spin on SE??

The bellini sounded good to me. I have my trusty list of liquory options in WS, so I'm sure i"ll find something to put a happy spin in my tour around the world!

Ugh! The meal times sound hard, and a pain! I can't imagine having to do that day after day in a place that should be easy to be in.
