National Emerald Aisle Question

lawgs, this reward thing is all new to me too. I don't know how I got 10 reward points. After your rental is over, you can log on to the club and check your rental history. At the bottom of the document it tells me that I received 10 reward points for this rental. While I know that they are doing a double promotion until the end of July, this number does not jive to what I rented. I rented for 11 days and got 10 points....don't know how that happened.

Now when I log on and pull up my next reservation for July, there is a section for free day(s). If I click on it it tells me how many free days are available for me to use. So I did a mock one and used both free days. All was accepted and it took $60 off of my rental for the price of 2 days. I haven't decided if I want to use them for July or wait until the July reward points and use them all in October.

(there is some brief explanation for the club perks and levels on their site once you log in as a member.)

The only thing I found was I can't use a coupon if I use the free days. Even though the space for coupon is empty, the site will let me use one or the other, but will let me apply the contract discount.

This seems to be a nice little perk, because in the past you never got anything for renting except FF miles, and I never get enough on one airline to use them.

I'm pretty pleased with the way things are continuing at MCO and will continue to use EA. But I've done my math and will chalk up more than 40 days this year, so hopefully will be moving into the next tier level of the club in 2005 so will be guaranteed a full size for sure. I missed it by 2 (had 38 days) last year.

No offense everyone but this argument is silly.

Prior to the creation of “Executive”, reserving a midsize on the EA meant you will get definitely a midsize and you may be able to choose something bigger or a PT (which is not bigger than a midsize). There was no guarantee of anything but a midsize.

Now, with Executive, regular EA basically means the same thing as I just stated. Maybe you’ll get something bigger and/or more fun, but there are no guarantees. Executive means you will definitely get something bigger than a midsize when you pay midsize price.

answers??

it seems National's "left - website" and "right - actual locations" hands are not in "sync"

all i was trying to say is ......from what is being reported, evidently it is "business" as usual on the EA at MCO and you might get an "upgrade"

it is sorta like SWA having rules for "pre boarding" but whether or not it is implemented at the actual location depends on other factors beyond "words posted on a website"

n2mm

can you explain how the "reward credits" work for the rental eg how long did you rent for to get 10 credits?

or

is there a website url that explains it

had not heard of this before you mentioned it

I have no answers, can only say what I have read. If the status quo is not working in Orlando, horay and I think that is great.
Personally, I am not banking on it and will, if I ever use National again, reserve what I need.

As to SWA and their rules, amen to that. :)

thanks for explaining the credits....will see what happens when we get to MCO in june

the free day is like a coupon anyway....and sometimes worth more than 20$

You only have to use the counter for an upgrade coupon, not a money off coupon.

If you are having a problem getting a reservation via the EC site to work, clear your cache and cookies.

BTW, I did not "clear my cache and cookies" when I made my reservation. Clearing cache was not the right answer, as it does not fix temporary website glitches.:D

Another chance to thank you for the code you posted. Thanks again.
Last week again, National had in EA SUV, Trucks and that great Buick Rendevous (sp)
Maybe because MCO is such a family destination, they will (hopefully) keep the larger vehicles there.

It has nothing to do with MCO being a family destination. It depends on how many reservations they have for the larger cars/SUVs.

If they have a PT or SUV to spare, they will throw it in the EA. If they don't, they won't.

I rented from EA last weekend at JFK. There was 1 Chevy Classic, 2 PT Cruisers, a Chrysler Pacifica (somewhere in between a station wagon & a SUV), and 2 Dodge Durango SUV's.

Of that I am aware, however, National can be a bit buggy from time to time and the correct answer is to clear the cookie and cache. It has happened many time to many people and this remedy has worked way too many times to count.

I just returned from renting using the EA and there were lots of vehicles larger than intermediate in the EA. We ended up with a Buick Rendevouz as I wanted lots of luggage space. We also had other choices like a PT cruiser, another SUV(RAV4 size) as well as the true intermediate sedans.

We got into MCO about 6:00pm on Saturday and did not have any wait at all in checking out-we got an awesome deal of $87 for 4 full days for the Rendevouz, using the Priceless discount. Thanks so much for the DIS and those codes!

Well lets just hope the trend continues and they have the larger vehicles to put into EA.

As far as I'm concerned, I don't care how they get into EA as long as they are there.

We got a PT last Wednesday when we went, but it was a stripped down model of what we have had in the past. No auto lock doors, no reading lamp, etc. Next month we'll look at it better. They did have a lot of PT's, so I think we just picked a yucky one.
They had a couple of vans, a couple SUV's, some Aztecs and a bunch of other choices...very nice selection when we got there are 11:15 am, Wednesday.
My price held...no concession price was added back in. We were very pleased with the price.
